Fellow homeowner/DIY-er, have been really happy with my Ryobi stuff. Yeah, you could spend quite a bit more and get into the Milwaukee level equipment, but I simply can't justify it (2-3x more spend for 20-50% better performance). Ryobi punches above its $$ IMO. Project Farm on YouTube tends to rate it fairly high in most all comparisons as well.

Ok....everyone knows about the hack? in case you just want the batteries and already have the tool or have the batteries and just want the tool .....?

you can't split up a delivery and pickup but you can pick up at a different location. Simply pickup the one you want......or.....return one to the store after delivery. your order will be refunded if you don't pick up in 7 days worse case scenario.

As a newb wanting to get into the Ryobi ecosystem, is there a reason NOT to jump on this? Normal homeowner, I do some occasional DIY, and wanting to grow my skill set. Y'all said something about battery quality not being good with this pack, though? But at $100 for 2 batteries and a tool, sounds awesome to me.

It's more than enough for a DIY'er. I've seen mechanics use them in factories where they were abused terrible and these tools survived.

No, it is simply business today. We'd all like to get 2 of the 4 ah batteries, but they tested the waters with a lesser battery pack and found that people were willing to buy it. They'd be stupid not to try, from a business sense.

As a newb wanting to get into the Ryobi ecosystem, is there a reason NOT to jump on this? Normal homeowner, I do some occasional DIY, and wanting to grow my skill set. Y'all said something about battery quality not being good with this pack, though? But at $100 for 2 batteries and a tool, sounds awesome to me.

I'm pretty sure I read/heard that the brushed jigsaw is better than the brushless. I think I just need a jigsaw and a recip saw, any experience between the brushed/non-brushed versions of each?

Fellow homeowner/DIY-er, have been really happy with my Ryobi stuff. Yeah, you could spend quite a bit more and get into the Milwaukee level equipment, but I simply can't justify it (2-3x more spend for 20-50% better performance). Ryobi punches above its $$ IMO. Project Farm on YouTube tends to rate it fairly high in most all comparisons as well.

Agree, and I'm deep into Team Red territory. I use M12 a lot for work, where honestly the size and weight is the biggest draw. Once I get into the M18s, it's all heavy. So I save a few bucks and usually go Ryobi. If they had a 12V line, I probably would've gone with Ryobi from the start.

Agree here, been happy with my stuff. For the types of small, around the house, type of things I mostly do, the lighter weight of the smaller driver/drill would ensure they are always in my tool bag and not in the garage. The trip to/from the garage to just drill a small guide hole for a screw is the reason to have a battery powered drill. You can always get out the electric if you need the power. Or get the bigger tool as part of a project spend (like putting 500 screws into a deck)
