I was thinking about buying one but this has poor energy efficiency compared to Winix and has some other negatives. The pre-filter is that cloth you see on the outside which means you see things that get caught in the prefilter front and center. Other purifiers hide the prefilter below a cover which I prefer. Then when you vacuum it off the cloth wears down and you have to replace that front part at an additional cost. It's also louder than Winix models at the same air flow level. Louder noise might be good for a bedroom if you like to sleep with white noise though.

Also note it doesn't have wifi even though it's called a "smart" air purifier. You need to get the 320 Max for wifi scheduling.

"Filters 1582 sq. ft. with 1 air change/hour" does not mean it's suited for a space that large. It's intended for a space size of around 327 sq. ft. providing 4.8 air changes/hour.

Ok, this just pisses me off personally (recovering marketing degree holder): "Filters 1582 sq. ft. with 1 air change/hour" is marketing hogwash as that number isn't remotely close to what should be looked at to judge performance. To give an idea on true usability this unit has a CADR rating of 211 CFM smoke, 245 CFM pollen, and 221 CFM dust which makes it AHAM rated for 366 sqft for *4.8* changes an hour (source: https://www.bissell.com/bissell-a...2768A.html) It's a fine air cleaner for rooms that are 400sqft and smaller (and will make a difference in bigger rooms) but inflating the usability doesn't help the end user due to less effect, nor does it help the mfg due to negative associations.

I went to the winix site and found this. Might be something someone else is interested in. Its running for $69.99 refurbished.

I bought one of these when they were recently really cheap and I love it. It kicks ass at filtering my open-concept first floor. It did a great job filtering during the recent terrible air quality in the northeast. 300+ AQI outdoor and sub 50 indoors.

I have both and the winix is only a dust collector and the hepa filter is thinner. This Bissell has a charcoal pellet odor absorber. The pre filter last a weekly cleaning for a year or more. This is much better

I bought this new for $80 or so. The only complaint I have is that the difference between settings 1 to 3 is incremental, but 3 to 4 is a huge jump (in air movement and noise). That being said, it seems to work well. I shake out the mesh filter once a week and change the carbon filter once every few months. I haven't changed the hepa filter yet, I figured one change every 6 months would be ok.

I bought a second one this is the best and nicest looking air cleaner. The filters and pellet filter are $50 by themselves so $30 for this is awesome

I have this model and have had it for about 2 years. It's been really good, and I experience zero rattles. It's great for a bedroom if you enjoy a subtle "fan noise".

The Winix that costs twice as much? Or are we comparing apples to apples?
If you have a costco membership the Winix regularly goes on sale for $100 and comes with an additional filter which makes it comparable to this Bissell.

Ordered one for our first air purifier for our bedroom, trying to keep down the dust, most of our house is hardwood and not that dusty, but the bedroom has a rug and dust accumulates quickly, hope this helps.

Fwiw been using for past 2 years. Did not have this issue, but it makes a hum during start, which goes away in 2-3 min. You can barely hear the device otherwise.

I have this which looks nice, but I think the Coway AP-1512 is worth the extra price. Cheaper filters and much easier cleaning. Seems to filter air better too.

$200 on Amazon. Is there a place with a better price?

It goes on sale pretty routinely for ~$150-160, sometimes lower at Walmart.
