We get winter, which a lot of us don't like. Like, real winter with snowstorms and bitter cold. Husband says we are moving South when he retires. Other than that, it's lovely here. But it's too cold for around five months. We did have an earthquake here about fifteen years ago. It was VERY minor. It seemed like about half of people noticed it and the other half didn't. The half that didn't notice it felt left out. I was sitting on the living room floor with my baby son and felt weirdly dizzy, but I also have bad vertigo, so I wasn't sure. But then I looked up and the ceiling fan was swaying very very slightly, so I figured it out. I remember one Facebook Friend had a picture of a lawn chair knocked over as a gag, but it wasn't even that bad. If you weren't really paying attention, you missed it.
I heart snow. I'm guilty of shoveling more snow than I'm supposed to, which my neighbor appreciates.

I remember the earthquake. Big Grin I was at work and thought it was a big truck driving past our building. It was so minor. Then about a month later I saw T-shirts at ShopRite "I survived the NJ earthquake" Rofl2

I've never had vertigo until after my open-heart surgery. I've been in the hospital twice for it since then. They've done every possible test on me including brain MRI's and they can't find any reason for it. I can't stand up and close my eyes. I'll come crashing down to the floor for sure. I can't avoid walking into things and if I bend down I can pass out. Getting Axe at CVS has been a real challenge since it's on the bottom shelf. Last night I was very dizzy and then all of the sudden I got so tired that I had to lay down on my bed. I wasn't sleepy. I just had no energy. The next thing I knew I was waking up and my left foot and right arm were asleep. I tried to stand up and crashed to the floor because I couldn't feel my leg. Have you ever had anything like this happen to you during a vertigo spell?
Mine isn't like that but it's more like all the time, not sudden onset. It's mixed with anxiety so there are so many things that I don't do anymore that I want to do. I can only drive on small roads and not over big overpasses or bridges. I can barely walk inside malls because I feel like the floor is rocking and I have to hold onto someone (and family gets embarrassed). I have had spells (in the house, thankfully) where I couldn't walk and had to crawl to the bathroom because I was so dizzy. I haven't really found anything that helps.

So sorry to hear this. I have some vertigo to a degree; it's always there slightly but every now and then it gets bad. Hate when that happens as then I get extremely nauseous too.

While my vertigo doesn't limit most things I'd like to do, I have other conditions that do so I can empathize with you. Most days find me sitting in my recliner.

Take care.

Has anyone done an Amazon return lately at staples? I dropped my return off over a week ago, and still no refund. They said no refund until they receive the item back.

I've never done an Amazon return at Staples, I didn't know they were an option. I have taken mine to Kohls and had no issues. You don't even have to have the item(s) boxed up.

Hopefully you'll get the refund soon. Saw on local news someone returned two items thru Staples and only got credit for one although they had the receipt saying two were returned. Probably only got a credit for the 2nd one because of the news station/bad publicity. Long winded way of saying people do have problems returning items thru Staples.

So I have my surgery tomorrow morning. Obviously, I'm not looking forward to it especially the recovery. There's going to be a lot of pain. It hurts just thinking about it. If it's anything like the cystoscopy, then it will be hell. I did everything I could on Sunday to reduce my extra bucks at CVS so that I won't lose much if I'm out for an extended period but it was a massive failure. The Aveeno deal would've been perfect for me but I missed it. I did my usual deals but they didn't work as expected (a massive understatement). I have to prepare for losing a lot of store money but I did what I could. I cashed out a month ago but I got sucked back in by some very good deals. At least the store money I'll lose will be profits rather than actual cash. Anyway, I'll post again when I get back home. I have no idea when that will be since they haven't told me anything about what to expect other than I'll be peeing blood and have a catheter in for a week.

Thanks, Marcia. I'm thinking that if I stay up tonight that I'll be able to sleep in the hospital tomorrow but that never works. I'll just be tired and grouchy.

And I thought that I was having a bad year but it's nothing compared to the year that Busy Burr, the interim CEO of Rite Aid, is having. She's on the board of Silicon Valley Bank. The stock has gone from a year high of $425.92 to closing at 8 cents yesterday. Now she's at the helm of Rite Aid. She told her employees in a memo that it's business as usual and that the store brand is going to save the day. You know who else thought that? The CEO of Bed, Bath, and Beyond and look what happened to them. Maybe Rite Aid will re-open as Ryshi. That will bring in the crowds. Look out, here they come now...

Reporter: Sir, why are you here today?
Customer: Um, is this CVS?
Reporter: No, CVS is down the street.
Customer: Thanks.
Reporter: Wait. Where are you going?
Customer: To CVS. I'm looking for the Ryshi brand. I heard
that CVS carries it.

So my day is starting off really badly. I hope that it's not an omen of things to come. I stocked up Aquafina from RA for my surgery. I've had a few bottles and I can't stand it. I'd rather get the store brand. Ralphs has their brand on sale. I went there at 6 when they opened but I got 5 of the wrong ones (I thought that Pure Life was the store brand). I think that the cashier was going to give them to me for the sale price but dumb old me I had to say no, I'll go back and get the right ones and of course they were out of stock. The guy goes we'll get them in tomorrow. A lot of good that does me. I'll be in the hospital and when I get out I can't lift anything so I'm stuck with Aquafina and I'm going to have to drink a ton of water for the next week. Then when I got home my urine results came back from yesterday. The good news is that they weren't any worse than last week's results. The bad news is that last week's results were pretty bad. The way my day is going they'll probably tell me that I have a brain tumor when I get to the hospital. I've certainly had enough radiation over the last year for my whole body to be one big tumor. I don't actually think that I have a brain tumor but I have had 3 brain CAT scans and a brain MRI in the last 3 months because of my vertigo.

Oy. I can't tell the difference in taste of bottled water. Maybe I just never thought about it. What is that other brand name you mentioned in previous posts that starts with "Ry"?? I only know that you can have vertigo if you have fluid in your ears. I guess it can't be anything that simple for you....??
Best wishes.hug

There's a big difference in how water tastes. Nothing is better than fresh water from a mountain stream when you're backpacking high up in the Sierras. As far as store water goes, I didn't think there was a big difference but there's something about Aquafina that I don't like. I wanted to get the store brand because that's what I'm used to. I should've just paid whatever at Ralphs and got something. Another bad decision on my part. I'm in no mood to run over to Vons and get their water so I'll have water that I can't stand for the next week. Sorry Marcia, I'm very stressed out right now. I'm not worried about the surgery. I've been through so much that prostate surgery is nothing. The water is a bigger deal. I'm going to have to ask people to do me favors when I get back home like pick up water for me and I don't want to do that. I could be down for a month where all I can do is sit in bed and watch tv. Can you imagine how bad my posts on here will be if that happens? I'll get banned for sure lol. Another hour and my ride will be here. I was going to give her the Aquafina because she likes it. Now I have to keep the stupid stuff because then I'll have no water.

Ryshi is the RA store brand. They also have something called Ello. I guess that it's a play on Hello. The old store brand name was Big Win. What's wrong with that? It's certainly better than Ryshi and Ello. Why is the CEO introducing new store brands when RA is going out of business? Most people won't know that Ryshi is RA's brand just like you didn't know that (because why would you) and they'll go to CVS looking for it. It's so stupid on RA's part.
