Ryshi is the RA store brand. They also have something called Ello. I guess that it's a play on Hello. The old store brand name was Big Win. What's wrong with that? It's certainly better than Ryshi and Ello. Why is the CEO introducing new store brands when RA is going out of business? Most people won't know that Ryshi is RA's brand just like you didn't know that (because why would you) and they'll go to CVS looking for it. It's so stupid on RA's part.
Marcia is near me in NJ and most of the RA's around here were taken over by Wag, pre-pandemic. I also had no clue that Ryshi was a store brand. I thought you made up the name because it's so vomit but I guess they did market research to choose the name.

There's a big difference in how water tastes. Nothing is better than fresh water from a mountain stream when you're backpacking high up in the Sierras. As far as store water goes, I didn't think there was a big difference but there's something about Aquafina that I don't like. I wanted to get the store brand because that's what I'm used to. I should've just paid whatever at Ralphs and got something. Another bad decision on my part. I'm in no mood to run over to Vons and get their water so I'll have water that I can't stand for the next week. Sorry Marcia, I'm very stressed out right now. I'm not worried about the surgery. I've been through so much that prostate surgery is nothing. The water is a bigger deal. I'm going to have to ask people to do me favors when I get back home like pick up water for me and I don't want to do that. I could be down for a month where all I can do is sit in bed and watch tv. Can you imagine how bad my posts on here will be if that happens? I'll get banned for sure lol. Another hour and my ride will be here. I was going to give her the Aquafina because she likes it. Now I have to keep the stupid stuff because then I'll have no water.
A couple solutions: Tell your ride person you'll give her the Aquafina if she'll get you some of the store brand. OR, do you have grocery delivery service where you live? Just order the water you prefer and have it delivered; this could possibly be done today or sometime after your surgery.

Good luck tomorrow with your surgery.

So they released me from the hospital today even though my BP was only 81/49. I've been home for 5 hours and all I've done is to pee blood into the catheter bag. I'm getting ready to go back to the hospital in a few minutes. I should be in the hospital at least tonight. They had better release me this time when I'm really ok because it sucks having this happen. I told them that I wasn't ok to go home but because I passed my stress test 3 weeks ago they weren't worried about me. I wish that I had never taken that damn thing.

Yes, I think you're making the right decision. Hospital should not have released you with BP like that. Glad you're being careful. We all love you on here

Thank you. I ended up going to the ER in the middle of the night. I emptied my bag at 8 and the new urine was normal color. Then I took my new meds one of which turns your urine orange but nobody told me that. So I woke up to a bag full of urine that looked like blood. I was in a lot of pain and I got to the ER at around 2 am. The nurse thought that it was blood, too, but the doctor told me that it was my meds. I'm still in a tremendous amount of pain and I'm going to have to take norco for it (which I don't want to do). The ER doctor told me that I should take it if I'm in a lot of pain. At first, I thought that I'd be up and around in no time but now I see that's not going to happen. Walking is extremely painful and I can't imagine going shopping anytime soon. Hopefully, the norco can reduce the pain to where I can get some rest. I'll have the catheter in until Tuesday. That seems like forever right now.

Take the pain meds. There is no reason to let yourself suffer.
I'm sorry you have to go through this though.

I feel a little better now and I just took a norco. I went to RA to get puppy pads because I keep on leaking from my catheter. Of course, I had to do the Bounty/Duracell deal lol. I held up pretty well but I'm not going to do that again. It was definitely too much for me. Thank you Kiki, Marcia, and JCDC for your get well wishes.

Thank you, s'momma. The norco definitely helps. I don't like taking it but it's nice to get some relief from the pain. The other med (phenazopyridine hcl - that's a mouthful lol) doesn't seem to be doing much but I'll give it time.

EEK!No wonder you were worried. They probably laughed about it once you left, but I hope at least one of them will remember you and warn other people about that side effect.

And thanks for mentioning puppy pads. I'm going to mention them to my sister.Hide

They work really well. I got the extra strength ones. I had never heard of puppy pads before somebody told me to get them but as soon as I saw them I'm going these are chucks from the hospital lol. I wish that they had a size to put over your entire bed. It would be a lot easier.

I'm having a bit of a relapse today. I don't know how I was able to go to RA yesterday. I could barely get a bagel from Vons this morning. Walking is absolute torture. I'd love to be able to stay in bed and sleep but I have insomnia again. Trazodone has put me to sleep in the past but now it does nothing. I'll have to get something else because I'm going on 4 nights with very little sleep.

I've given up on trying to stop the catheter from leaking. I like to sleep on my side and then the catheter will really leak and I had to drain the bag 3 or 4 times last night. A couple of times the bag was all the way full and all I can say is thank God for puppy pads.

Are the puppy pads thicker and better than regular 'bed pads' for incontinence?

Can you fall asleep while watching tv? Maybe that would get you a few hours sleep.

Where do you get bed pads? The puppy pads haven't leaked and they've been pretty wet a couple of times. I'd much rather have the bed pads. If they aren't as thick I could put 2 of them down.

I fell asleep for 2 hours watching tv just now. It was something on the History Channel with William Shatner about a haunted house in Poland. I don't know why I was watching that lol. I think I was switching channels and I was starting to fall asleep so I just stopped. I can only lay on my back without the catheter leaking but I like to sleep on my side. I have a 900 ml bag and it fills up very quickly. It will start leaking if it fills up. I don't know where it's all coming from. I'm not drinking very much. I was on three IV's in the hospital so maybe that's it. I still feel very bloated.

I need to email my doctor and ask her for a different sleeping pill and antibiotic. Then I'll take a shower. At least I can do that. At first they said no shower but then said that it was ok.
