My vitamin cocktail worked pretty well yesterday. I took a nap right after I took it and woke up without a headache. I felt better for most of the day but still not very good. Unfortunately, I had a bad night. The headache came back and I had multiple near passing out episodes. I took another cocktail this morning. These are vitamins that I'm deficient in or have been recently. I started it off with multivitamins and then added B12, B6, Zinc, Potassium, and Iron. There's one vitamin that I don't like but I'm not sure if it's Iron or Zinc. I currently have the headache again. Hopefully, the cocktail will help.

Maybe I did drink the wrong kind of cocktail since I've almost passed out twice this morning. If I'm going to pass out, I should at least be having a good time...

I went to the 99Cent Store yesterday to get some face masks. I wanted the light blue ones but they only had purple and white. I got the purple ones because I've never had purple face masks before. And also because I've been listening to Deep Purple recently. I saw Deep Purple in concert back in the day. They headlined with Uriah Heep and Fleetwood Mac on the card. This was way before Stevie and Lindsey. Fleetwood Mac was more of a blues/hard rock band back then but they were still fantastic. Uriah Heep was amazing. They had so much potential but drugs got in the way. I can't remember if this was before or after Smoke in the Water came out. I remember that in my senior year they always used to play Highway Star right after school let out for the drive home. Machine Head came out in 1972 so I'm thinking that it was after Smoke. I was really into In Rock and that came out in 1970. Child in Time (from In Rock) was Deep Purple's masterpiece. The best rock guitar solo I've ever heard. Maybe the best rock vocals, too. I don't know of any other singer who could hit those high notes like Ian Gillan did. David Byron of Uriah Heep was a fantastic singer, too (when he wasn't messed up and off key). I was watching a Fleetwood Mac concert on YT back in their drug days and Stevie Nicks was so off key that I couldn't listen to it. I would've walked out if I had been at that concert. She's always sounded perfect to me. I never realized that she could be so bad. On the other hand, Lindsey Buckingham was absolutely amazing. On second thought, I probably would've stayed. Buckingham is so underrated as a guitarist and Mick Fleetwood is one of the great rock drummers. Don't know how I got so off topic. I wanted to say that the face masks were marked at $5.99 but rang up at $3. I should've bought more but I'll go to another 99Cent store and see if I can find the blue ones. If I can't find them, then I'll have the blues and not have the blues at the same time...

Please get the KN95's!!! You can use your Wag's Cash to buy them. They are much better than the blue ones!! I don't see them on the Wag's nor CVS websites, but I have seen them in store hanging in CVS pharmacy area. The ones they have online are the Honeywell and 3M brands that have the elastic that goes around the head like they gave out Free that you and I got and they don't fit us.

Hell even if you have to go to Amazon, its worth it. Please!!

I had a B12 and Potassium deficiency which was easily corrected by taking a few vitamins. However, my neurologist tested me for B6 and Zinc and I was low in both of those (very low in B6 which is uncommon). I don't like taking those supplements (they mess me up) so I still have the deficiencies. My iron has been trending lower for the past 3 years. It's now in the abnormal range. They did a CBC panel and half of my tests were abnormal including my hemoglobin which indicated iron-deficiency anemia. My TSH level was also low (overactive thyroid) but I don't know if there's any relationship to the vitamin issues. I feel no difference when my B12 and Potassium levels are up or down. They're just numbers. I don't know what to do about B6 and Zinc. I think that I have a problem there. With the iron, I always feel tired and wiped out. I have fainting issues and an irregular heartbeat. I've had multiple heart attacks but I don't know if any of it is related to iron. I was bleeding for 3 weeks after my surgery at the end of August so that might be why my iron is low. My doctor hasn't talked to me about it yet because the results just came in.
I notice no difference if I stop taking the iron. Well, actually a lot of the supplements. I am just kind of trusting they are doing their job and going off of bloodwork results. I do notice if I stop my Glucosamine. And I truly believe upping C and elderberry if I start to feel sick helps me. Everything else is just kind of on faith.

Based on my experience, I don't think the majority of doctors even ever consider B12 deficiency as the cause of any medical conditions, so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. Before I was diagnosed with my deficiency, I was often told to take iron (which I personally dislike immensely).

The year I was FINALLY diagnosed, I was constantly fatigued, even when I tried to get a full 8 hours of sleep. I also had brain fog & was finding myself forgetting things. The final straw was when I caught myself going to put M&Ms in my mouth and instead of them ending up in my mouth, they ended up on the table in front of me. This had happened several times.

My primary doctor, who I love overall, listened to my concerns & ran blood tests, then suggested maybe I take something for my stress because the tests came back normal. I literally ended up curled up in a ball on the floor in the corner of the room crying, because I really felt like I had a brain tumor or something and didn't want his silly stress medicine.

Lucky for me, an internal specialist had just joined the clinic I go to and he was using the rooms next to my primary doctor. They were talking about me in the hall while I cried. My primary doctor and the internal specialist came in. He asked a few more questions and suggested a test to check for a B12 deficiency.

My numbers were ridiculously low, so they started me on B12 shots once a month. My husband could actually tell when I hadn't had my shot on schedule! Luckily, as time has passed, the OTC B12 vitamins have improved and I no longer have to have shots, but I do take my B12 as one of the first things I do every morning.

The B12 has no negative side effects like iron (lol). The biggest thing is I have to make sure I take it early or it will keep me awake at night. Usually I can take it as late as noon, and I have taken it as late as 3pm if I had a very busy late night planned, but it definitely boosts my energy levels.

Even with my history, I have to remind my primary doctor every time he orders my bloodwork to include the test for B12.

So do I think it is worth you asking your doctor to include the test the next time you have blood drawn? Why, yes, I think it is worth it.
All very interesting. I may add a B12 as I did some reading and as a vegetarian that doesnt really eat cereal I dont have a natural source regularly. In my reading I saw that you should take B12 and C a couple of hours apart for maximum effect. I know I tried a B-something of my husband's once. My face got really flush (bright red) and I got scared I was having an anaphylaxis reaction because that's how my last one started. Fortunately, that was just a normal reaction to the B-whatever it was and didnt progress. Do the B12s make you flush?

I don't like iron because it has a tendency to make me need prunes. Wink

Based on reading about the various supplements, I take all of mine at least 30 minutes apart, with some of them separated by more hours than that. I would suspect taking a ton of them all at once could make an otherwise compromised system feel worse, even if some of them are helping your system internally. Not a doctor, just my opinion.

I really hated those 95's. The thought of wrapping that tight band around my head with the headache that I already have...it's worse than going to a Devo concert. Just kidding, Devo just popped into my head for no reason. They keep on playing this song by Modern English on the radio. Something about the future and melting. The song is so annoying. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song but they start building into a guitar solo that would take it to a different level but instead go back to the stupid lyrics. I wonder if they could do the song over again if they would put the solo in now that they've had 40 years to think about it.

Maybe the nap helped more than you thought it would since you quickly dismissed my suggestion of getting rest. If nothing else, you didn't have to deal with a headache while sleeping. Take care.

I hate taking vitamins with a passion. Getting me to take them once a day is a big challenge. If I had to space them out I'd never do it. They don't seem to be helping me much. I still have the headache and I'm on my fifth time today of almost passing out. The passing out is normal for me but the headache is not. I think that the headache started after my surgery but I can't say for sure. The antibiotics were helping me a lot but I ran out and I've asked for more but for some reason they keep on messing up and don't have them for me. It's not like I'm going to abuse them or anything. I just want to finish the course but now I haven't had any since Saturday night. I took some right after my surgery then I had them in an IV when I was in the hospital. The doctor told me to stop them when he took the catheter out but I continued to bleed so I started taking them again and the bleeding stopped but I have to go constantly and it hurts a lot. The surgery was supposed to make me go less and be pain free. I got my urine sample results back and my kidneys are messed up. I'm surprised that the doctor hasn't called me about it. He also hasn't called about my CBC panel and ferritin tests. Something is definitely wrong there. Maybe it's because I'm still bleeding internally from my prostate surgery. I have no idea.

I wish that I had known about the Elderberry. I had so much of it from all of the RA deals. Maybe 50 bottles but it could have been more and I gave them all away. I didn't even keep one for myself. I was lucky to have the Iron bottle. I gave them away too. I've got a big problem with Boost. I don't have much space and I'm never going to drink it even though it's not that bad. I might have to give them away, too. It'd better than having them sit here and expire. Maybe I should just drink the Boost and forget about the vitamins. That would be easier for me.

Oh, I didn't dismiss it. Everybody tells me to get rest. I'm an incredibly active person. I want to be out surfing, backpacking, or playing tennis. I don't want to be sitting home all day watching Bobby Flay. That's hell for me. Please don't take it personally. I have to get out there and do things no matter how bad I feel. That's why I shop so much. It's the only thing that I can safely do. If I get too tired I can go sit down in my car and take some Nitro. I'm afraid to go on walks. I used to be able to but for the past 3 months there's no way.

Open a package of Boost and put a few in the refrigerator. Once they are cold, open one and drink it. I have been pleasantly surprised, they aren't bad.

Sambucol Elderberry from CVS deals is what got me started on elderberry. Once I had to fly to CA on business. BY the time our flight touched down, I felt terribly bad and had a very important meeting the next morning. I went straight from the airport to the closest CVS, bought a bottle and took a huge swig. I took another swig before I crawled into bed. By the morning, I felt like a new person. Strange tasting, but something I swear by as helping me multiple times over the years.

I've only had Boost 3 times in my life. They gave it to me as part of the stress test for my heart. It has always been warm and tastes much better than I expected it to. It would probably be pretty good cold. I don't know why I have such a thing about not drinking it. I could have it in the morning when I wake up or before I go to bed.

Since I've gotten multiple messages asking what the glitch at CVS was, I will tell you it is dead and there was really no reason to discuss it here.

Evidently, a $10 ecb for the Gillette/Venus deal last week was not disappearing from accounts if stc. People were reusing it over and over again. I was told the glitch was fixed by early Sunday morning. Monday morning, they removed the $10 ecb earned from all accounts. If the ecb had not been used at all, it was replaced by a new $10 ecb. If the ecb had been used more than one time, the ecb account was closed.

Some people who took advantage are bragging they used all their ecbs, so the account closing doesn't matter because they can always get a new card. Others evidently are sweating over it because they had their real name, address and phone number on their card.

So it's probably better it's not something we heard about in advance.
Wow. I did a bunch of the Gillette cartridge deals this week. I hope that it doesn't glitch. It's a pretty hot deal if you have the $4 dq and 7/30 crt.

$29.49 Fusion 4 pack - $4 dq - 7/30 = $18.49 and get $15 ecb's.

The debate for me was that the 8 pack was only $7 more. I opted for the
8-packs because I go thru a lot of blades and prices are only going up.

Gas is $6.19 now at the discount places. It's going to make me think twice about going shopping. My good stores are 20+ miles from where I live. I've got to really want or need to go shopping in order to swing the gas bill.
