I just read this page but have to go back some because I got myself so out of the loop. I, too, have had a headache for a few days now. Husband says it is allergies. All I want to do is take acetaminophen and faux benadryl, which puts me to sleep. Not getting anything done but did snap at my kids (teens) when they gave me a hard time when I was taking them to the dentist yesterday. I've been really snippy snappy this week, like I haven't been in months or more. I was happy and chill all summer.

Since I've gotten multiple messages asking what the glitch at CVS was...
I have a lot of accounts and I don't pay attention to how many ecb's that I have in each account until I go to work out my deals. When CVS sends me coupons, I load them onto my cards. It's CVS responsibility to send me the correct coupons. If they can't do that, they should get rid of digital. It's stupid to blame the customer for CVS's mistakes. They pushed the system on me. I sure didn't ask for it. I already spend way too much time online with all of this digital nonsense. I'm not going to spend even more time double checking that CVS didn't make a mistake. I didn't shop at CVS at all last week so I'm not invovled in the glitch but I could've easily loaded the $10 coupon and not known that I was doing anything wrong.

Speaking of which, I'm getting sick and tired of my coupons coming up that they've already been used when they haven't been. It's total bullshit.

Oh, and when I tried to use the 7/30 Gillette crt it would take off the $10 ecb and I wasted an hour while the cashier tried to figure out wtf was going on.

I had another transaction where the cartridge was marked $29.99 but rang up at $22.99. The register cancelled my 7/30 and used $7 of the $10 ecb instead and I didn't get the $15 ecb for spending $30. I had no idea because my total looked correct when I paid. Gee, that was nice CVS. I was able to get it fixed but only because I had an awesome cashier. The part that gets me mad is that the register didn't give me a heads up that something was wrong and instead made the transaction go thru so it was up to me to catch the mistake and then if I wanted to refund it I was only going to get a partial refund or maybe not anything back.

Sorry, I get hot under the collar when I think about CVS these days. I love the people who work at my stores but I don't understand what CVS is doing. It's like they're wrecking their business on purpose.

Wow. I did a bunch of the Gillette cartridge deals this week. I hope that it doesn't glitch. It's a pretty hot deal if you have the $4 dq and 7/30 crt.

$29.49 Fusion 4 pack - $4 dq - 7/30 = $18.49 and get $15 ecb's.

The debate for me was that the 8 pack was only $7 more. I opted for the
8-packs because I go thru a lot of blades and prices are only going up.

Gas is $6.19 now at the discount places. It's going to make me think twice about going shopping. My good stores are 20+ miles from where I live. I've got to really want or need to go shopping in order to swing the gas bill.
It was last week's deal where the ecb glitched, so you should be good.

That's a crazy price for gas! The highest places near me were $3.59 today. I go to a Randalls that is about 7 miles away to buy gas, because I can use 10 rewards to get $1/gallon discount on up to 25 gallons. Hubs and I usually take both cars to get the full 25 gallons.

Even if you get great gas mileage, you're probably spending $12 to go to a store 20 miles away from you.

I'm sorry you have a headache. It is hard to enjoy life when you aren't feeling well. Sleep is very good for you, and might be one of the best things for you until you get feeling better. Please take care of yourself.

Have you tested for covid? One of the symptoms I had when I ended up in the ER a week ago was a bad headache and I don't often get headaches. It had been there for a few days before I got more symptoms and I, too, thought it was allergies. Hope it's not.

Is Randall's owned by Kroger? I think I was in one in Sacramento but it was a log time ago. Beautiful store.

What other symptoms did you have? Maybe I should get tested. I have covid tests all of the time because I'm at doctor's appointments and in the hospital all of the time but who knows, maybe I finally got it.

Edit: I started getting the headaches which was right after my surgery at the end of August. I doubt that it's covid and if it is, it's not doing very much to me. I feel like crap but I always feel like crap.

Like I said, I started with a headache for a few days and had no idea it was covid. On Thursday I started feeling worse - stuffed head, dizzy, coughing, feverish with chills, wheezing, nauseous, weak and run down. My blood oxygen level was in the mid-80's. Went to the ER Thursday evening because I figured otherwise I'd probably end up there in the middle of the night. The meds they gave me in the ER actually had me feeling better by the time they discharged me a few hours later. And if you are positive, it's better to start the Paxlovid (if prescribed) sooner than later. It made my taste off and gave me a bit of an upset stomach but so far seemed to have worked. Finally, today I was feeling more like myself than I have for over a week now. Now I'm hoping I don't get rebound covid as that seems to occur more after taking Paxlovid from what I've heard. Or if I do it's no big deal.

I think my issue really is seasonal allergies. It's not a massive, head-cracking headache, but dull and yucky.

I read back a little more. Trying to catch up. During Covid my husband was feeling weak and we just thought he was out of shape or whatever. Then it got really bad and he thought maybe a heart condition so he went to urgent care to get looked at. They took blood and called us that day or the next and said to get to the hospital, he was horribly anemic. Stayed overnight and got tons of blood transfusions. Many tests later they realized he had a hiatal hernia that was huge and causing blood loss. Anyway, he had surgery this spring and is feeling much better. Just thought I'd throw this freak story into the mix.

I definitely don't have what you do. My doctor said that I'm anemic but that it's not critical. He also said that the protein in my urine is due to all of my other conditions. So two less things that I have to worry about.

Your oxygen is really low. I'm surprised that they let you leave the hospital with it that low.

I notice no difference if I stop taking the iron. Well, actually a lot of the supplements. I am just kind of trusting they are doing their job and going off of bloodwork results. I do notice if I stop my Glucosamine. And I truly believe upping C and elderberry if I start to feel sick helps me. Everything else is just kind of on faith.

All very interesting. I may add a B12 as I did some reading and as a vegetarian that doesnt really eat cereal I dont have a natural source regularly. In my reading I saw that you should take B12 and C a couple of hours apart for maximum effect. I know I tried a B-something of my husband's once. My face got really flush (bright red) and I got scared I was having an anaphylaxis reaction because that's how my last one started. Fortunately, that was just a normal reaction to the B-whatever it was and didnt progress. Do the B12s make you flush?
Niacin (B3) will make you flush. Its notorious for that. Nature's Bounty makes one that is "Flush Free". I took it for a while to open up blood vessels for high blood pressure. I got red face and arms red and itched like I had sunburn. Take it with food, its highly recommended not to take on empty stomach, as with ALL vitamins recommended.

I don't like iron because it has a tendency to make me need prunes. Wink

Based on reading about the various supplements, I take all of mine at least 30 minutes apart, with some of them separated by more hours than that. I would suspect taking a ton of them all at once could make an otherwise compromised system feel worse, even if some of them are helping your system internally. Not a doctor, just my opinion.

I also take extra C & zinc and add on elderberry if I start feeling bad.

B12 does not make me flush.
Elderberry is one of the supplements for boosting your immune system. Its also sold under the name "Sambucus " or Sambucol. Years back, we got it at Wag's where you paid $10 for liquid bottle and got $10 RR back. Now, I buy it in capsule form (I think by Irwin or other popular brands).

I really hated those 95's. The thought of wrapping that tight band around my head with the headache that I already have...it's worse .
Try cutting the elastic in half and making a knot in them on each side to fit over your ears. I always mean to do that, but then I got the KN95's and haven't tried it yet. I've mentioned this before.

No, but I do follow the Bald Eagles FB pages. Decorah Rapture Resource. So beautiful! Their nests are huge. Camera next to the nest and you can watch them day and nite. Nite camera doesn't bother them, its special light that they don't see. We watch them laying eggs and as the eggs hatch and the babies grow. So interesting!

I wish that I had known about the Elderberry. I had so much of it from all of the RA deals. Maybe 50 bottles but it could have been more and I gave them all away. I didn't even keep one for myself. I was lucky to have the Iron bottle. I gave them away too. I've got a big problem with Boost. I don't have much space and I'm never going to drink it even though it's not that bad. I might have to give them away, too. It'd better than having them sit here and expire. Maybe I should just drink the Boost and forget about the vitamins. That would be easier for me.
Yes, the Elderberry is good for you! As I mentioned above, started getting it at Wag's years back but it was liquid form, as S'momma takes, see below.
Quote from schnauzermomma View quoted comment :
Open a package of Boost and put a few in the refrigerator. Once they are cold, open one and drink it. I have been pleasantly surprised, they aren't bad.

Sambucol Elderberry from CVS deals is what got me started on elderberry. Once I had to fly to CA on business. BY the time our flight touched down, I felt terribly bad and had a very important meeting the next morning. I went straight from the airport to the closest CVS, bought a bottle and took a huge swig. I took another swig before I crawled into bed. By the morning, I felt like a new person. Strange tasting, but something I swear by as helping me multiple times over the years.
I got started on it at Wag's years back.

My face gets red, too, but it's usually from something I've said...

It's from the blood thinner they gave me 5 days after my surgery. I just had the one pill but it totally messed me up and I haven't recovered from it. I wish that I had focused on this when I saw my primary doctor on Monday. Instead, I told him about everything that I thought was wrong with me so he gave me a huge list of appointments to make and tests to have done. None of this is going to help me with my problem right now which is that the blood thinner really messed me up.

I remember that Wags deal. It was from when Sambucol was a new brand and they were trying to push it. Wags used to do that a lot. The Sambucol deal has to be at least 10 years ago maybe longer. The recent deal at RA was with Hyland's but I also had some other brands. If Nature's Truth makes it, then I probably had it. My main issue is that if you take a bunch of gummies the calories can really add up. That's my issue with Boost. It's 240 calories. If you take one every day you'll gain about 15 pounds in a year. I gave up coffee because of covid and I didn't start back up because I drink it with a lot of sugar and I didn't want the extra calories. Plus how much that coffee costs. I wish that I could give up soda pop, specifically Coke, but I can't do it. I'd rather gain the weight. I've lost 15 pounds since my heart attack a year ago. I'm in pretty good shape right now especially since I can't work out due to my heart. I don't want to blow it and gain the weight back. I don't have the willpower to go on a diet to lose it.

The transaction was at CVS. They don't have a void option. Doing a refund at CVS can be a complete mess and you can lose a lot of money which isn't fair if the refund is because of something that wasn't my fault. I went by what the price tag said and the register tried to fix it by removing a coupon and giving me partial credit for my ecb's. It could've just beeped and said purchase requirement not meant. Then we would've caught the mistake and started over. The fix that CVS does is all in their favor and will cost me a lot of money. The refund is also in their favor and will cost me even more money. Fortunately, my cashier was the SM and she fixed it. I have no idea what she did. I just worry about my side.

A void option would make life so much easier at CVS but they don't want to tie up the cashier all day doing voids when CVS can make money off of their mistakes by making the customer foot the bill. Imagine going to the grocery store to return the peanut butter you bought for your kids because they like a different brand. You paid $5 for it and have the receipt but the grocery store only gives you back $2. That's CVS for you...

Sorry, I've been up all night and I don't feel well and I have a super busy day ahead of me.

Nice to meet ya pickle! There were days in my past when I thought the exact same thing. Couponing, SD, etc was one thing I could always count on to keep me sane when everything around me wasn't. Health issues are absolutely no fun, especially when they don't know where to start or how to try and help without making things worse. I hope you find a way out of this. As others have said, please take care of yourself first.

Based on my experience, I don't think the majority of doctors even ever consider B12 deficiency as the cause of any medical conditions,

Even with my history, I have to remind my primary doctor every time he orders my bloodwork to include the test for B12.

So do I think it is worth you asking your doctor to include the test the next time you have blood drawn? Why, yes, I think it is worth it.
Mainstream medicine is very good at trauma, or true cause and effect medicine. But if you need detective work done on your body, you need someone who will not poo-poo alternative things and is willing to take more than the 10-15 minutes corporate medicine will allow them. If you can find a doctor, especially a well-connected primary doctor that does that, hold on with both hands to them(and only share them with those you really care about) as I think there are too few around. Something has to give with this whole medical establishment but in the meantime we must be our own advocate.

Sorry I dont hang in this thread much but the sheer volume of replies the last several days piqued my interest, so here I am
