Gretsches have a reptuation as twangy rockabilly guitars but they're able to do so much more than that. This one has Broad'trons which have a warmer tone than Filter'trons and sound like traditional humbuckers. I've also been really impressed with the build quality and finish of every Gretsch I've owned and if I didn't already have a G5655TG I'd definitely grab this one.

I own this exact model and it's a great guitar. The smaller body is still nice and resonant unplugged and plugged in, this guitar rips. The Broadtron pickups are a little less fuller than a humbucker but still have a great sound. Sort of like a hot mini humbucker if I had to compare. Fit, finish and playability were all really impressive for the price range. Only downside is the bigsby by nature is tough to keep in tune. I rarely use it but if I were to buy again, I'd get the one with the v shaped stop bar tailpiece.

Tough call. I paid $80 more than this for the midnight blue one. But this is the second best color IMO.

There are two colors models with a mahogany back and neck. The rest of these the back, neck and front all match—personally I wasn't sure I could do that. Lol.

I'm not expert on bigsbies but can't you install a stiffer spring on them? Used to jam with some guys that used guitars with them back in the day. Also, I think roller bridges are popular with them too.

Maybe this is a different color? Looks like this is Stirling green not mint.

The licensed Bigsbys come with a stiffer spring than the genuine ones. I'd be willing to bet that the spring is not the issue. If the strings aren't returning to pitch, lubricate the nut and saddles with big bends or burts bees. Also check to make sure the roller bar is moving freely. If not, lubricate with sweing machine oil. The nylon washer under the spring can also have a tendency to bind. You can replace it with a penny and it will work much better. Lastly, if you dont use it, just spin the handle out of the way. Most styles of non-locking trems experience some degree of tuning instability due to thier nature since they pull the strings across the saddles and nut. I have roller nuts on some of mine, Including my 5422 (licensed) . My 6128-57 and 6119 PE keep tune pretty well without them. You can also file the nut for the next size up string gauge if you have a proper file set.

Sorry, I just found out there are two versions of this. The G2655T and G2655T-P90. The P90 version has different pickups and a mahogany body. I was mentioning it because for a bit more $ you get more color options.

I ended up getting the g2622.. I'm super impressed with it. I immediately changed out the strings, adjusted the action a bit, and it's playing like a dream! I've been playing all day and starting to fall in love with it!

The "BiggsFix" and a roller bridge really help keep these in tune. Yes you can install a stiffer spring which makes the bigsby work awesome, only downside is that it won't fit in the case right so you have to take the spring out which really screws up the tuning. I went back to the standard spring because of that.
