Correct.

For clarity's sake, there is a Delta 2 Extra Battery model they sell that's 1024 Wh (LFP, just like the D2 itself). One of the images in this listing for options shows both the D2 and Max extra batteries. But... they're pricy enough that you might as well just buy two of the main D2 units. That way, if one unit fails, you have a backup.

I've had a D2 unit for.. I guess a good 6+ months now. I've used it a few times and it's served me well for several power outages (considering capacity limitations for its size/weight). It's done well with solar charging too, having received a decent number of charges off of a large 455W solar panel, in addition to a few off EF's 160W folding panel that mine came with.

Very cool, albeit pricy "'Toy' but not a toy" that can save your bacon in a pinch. In the winter, this thing should be able to power most central air blowers for gas furnaces to keep you from freezing.. and supplement with a small generator when needed (transfer switch/seek electrician). You can set charging rates from 200-1200W to "play well" when charging off a smaller generator.

It looks like this package will qualify for an energy storage rebate as it's >3kw; so an extra 434 off. Anyone have experience/details on that front?

Nope, Delta Max EB is NMC with 800 cycles to 80%. I plan to use delta 2 to run the Wave 2 AC. the Max EB will only be used occasionally when I need to run the AC overnight.

It looks like the extra battery is not LFP (LiFePO4 battery).

I value the Max EB at about $670 (0.33c per wh) and the Delta 2 at $630. Those are the lowest price I have seen for refurbished units.

I was wondering about this too. Does it have to be a single purchase ? Would two main units count as a "system" or just a main unit plus extra capacity ?

I spent about 3 hours yesterday searching internet and found nothing about special requirements. So looks like it will be up to you to claim the credit and up to irs agent if you ever get audit. P.s. it's equipment plus installation cost, so if you bought cables, install transfer switch you can add it too.

Manufacturer's certification. For purposes of taking the credit, you can rely on a manufacturer's certification in writing that a product is qualified energy property. Don't attach the certification to your return. Keep it for your records.
To clarify, this is from irs guidance.

Yep, it's mostly marketing crap from solar companies, including battleborn who just copy pasted irs statements to promote their products. Battery storage is a new addition, we will hear first real stories next year during tax season. P.s. found few posts about people planning to claim battery storage credits for systems installed in RVs.

5 year warranty - but if you check ecoflow support on Reddit - ppl talk about sending their units in and months later never hearing back.

is this the main D2 unit that you are referring to?
