Yeah I saw that afterwards, so it's the better deal to get the N100 on Amazon.

For $18 you get a CPU with better performance, less power draw, 8 more execution units in the iGPU, and amazon's return policy.

The N100 is a tad better, but I run these (beelink version) in a harvester cluster and these have a modern 12th gen GPU so it will be able to handle 8-10 1080p IF you are transcoding. With my $20 Onn pucks they handle almost anything now, including AAC audio so I never even stress it (no transcoding). If you are doing 4k maybe a few at most. When I am out I watch TV on it, I have never seen a problem with it. Now this is running in a container, Windows will also be fine.

If you are concerned and do more than 5-10 transcodes (not streams) simultaneously maybe a N100 will give more headroom.

The N100 version idles at 9W. I have a 3 way cluster that idles around 30W total.

These boxes also allow a x1 NVMe and a SATA SSD.

Appreciate it! I think i will go for the N100 to be safe.

How would like work as a replacement for a pi4 with a retropie set up? Would the N100 be a better choice? My pi4 lags a bit with dreamcast stuff. Been eyeing a replacement.

Exactly, started with a pi (well really a cb1) then quickly needed something else, got a mini-PC and now considering this as all my other add-ons/integrations have me using up most power.

Quite a few if just streaming. I have an n100 setup for plex and it barely shows a 4k stream when not transcoding, it also transcodes a 4k stream perfectly.

I would get the beelink s12pro. It has the n100 cpu and is almost the same price on amazon. Quite impressive performance.

Is there any of these style of tiny PCs that can handle an internal 3.5" HDD? I have a large one for Plex media and would like to use something like this with a M.2 SSD for OS and 3.5" HDD for media

These are new this year. Alder Lake-N series. These chips are replacing the previous gen Celeron n series (N5095, N5105, etc.) They are the same Goldmont Atom cores as the E-cores on the core series processors. Seem very interesting and quite a good performance improvement over last gen. Do watch out as the high-end parts are being called i3 but they are just 8 core versions of these E-core only parts with no P-cores.

how does this compare to the Pentium G4560 which i currently have in my desktop. is it worth replacing?
