Don't be fooled by the deceptive advertising, and don't buy those products because it just encourages companies to keep doing that crap more. Since there is no legal way we can stop them from that kind of deceptive marketing, the only way we can fight it is by never giving them money so they eventually go out of business.

Just looked wally brand of 14.5oz diced is 88c a can. This is 82.5c per can and arguably better quality. For anyone looking check your local dollar tree I often find Muir Glen organics tomatoes in cans for 2/$1.25.
I can my own tomatoes too but as someone who went 6+ weeks with no power and about 6 months with limited facilities, thanks to back to back hurricaines.. it never hurts to have extra canned or pouched food.
