I suspect on this model you just push the steam button then start button and steam up the amount of milk you want.

This unit doesn't have the milk reservoir, so it's easier cleanup. The LatteGo has a milk container that is dishwasher safe. On my LatteGo I only use the milk reservoir a few times a year when we have company over. It's all americanos and espresso shots for my wife and I.

The unit for sale is an absolute strong recommendation at this price if you're looking for an easy to use super automatic and have minimal use case for milk based beverages. Dump decent beans and water in, plug it in, and you get solid coffee.

Which doesn't seem quite accurate, as neither the 1200 nor 2200 (non Lattego) even have a milk carafe, let alone an "XL" sized one.

If I pore through images and product descriptions on various sites, I think the main differences between the three are:
-all three are AquaClean compatible, but only the 2200 actually includes the AquaClean filter. The 800 and 1200 don't show it installed in the water tank in the 3/4 view, and some sites say it is sold separately (about $30 on Amazon).
-the 800 has more black trim than chrome trim, namely the drip tray grille and around where the coffee comes out. The 2200 also has additional chrome bezel around the touch display. I suspect the materials might be more plasticky than metal-ly for the black trim vs chrome bits...

I suspect the innards, esp the brew group, ceramic grinder, etc, are essentially the same from the 800 all the way up to the 5400, a lot of the internal replacement parts are the same across the lineup. Mainly a matter of drink selection options and customization of settings....

Just got it. The pull out tray doesn't seem to sit flush with the front of the machine. Buttons seem a bit finicky to touch. Didn't come with the water filter.

Anyone know the largest size it will brew? Looks like 8oz from a similar machine, but I can't get confirmation and the manual on Costco is not the actual manual.
I saw 8oz on a youtube video but I also read that you can change the max volume on the 1200 (which is supposedly very similar to the 800?).

"After you have programmed the new highest default quantity for a drink, the machine will dispense this new amount each time you select the highest quantity of this drink."

Got it, tried it, was pretty meh, returning it.

A stovetop coffee maker + a oxo burr grinder beat it hands down for flavor with the same beans. And its a way cheaper setup.

Got one - worth a shot at this price and Costco return policy. What ratio of espresso:water are you all using to make Americanos? Just learned the hard way that the hot water comes out of the frother nozzle, not where the coffee comes out!

Haha that's the worst way to learn! It happens though.

How's the straight espresso shot quality?

I appreciate your feedback. Did you dial it in, or just try a couple shots/coffees?

I brewed 5 or 6 cups dbl esp so far. I feel like a hint of plastic taste in my coffee. Does anyone has similar experience? I also dont feel much depth in my coffee and has some sort of watery feeling to it. I was thinking it might have a break in period and after that these would be addressed?

Pretty good. the first few were kind of weak but the one this morning was solid. Using some Lavazza espresso beans I ordered from Costco. I set the "aroma" setting to max and reduced the grind size below the default. It tastes way more like an espresso than anything I have had from a Nespresso.

I am by no means a coffee connoisseur. I'm replacing a drip machine. I rarely go to coffee shops, but when I do I get an Americano.

Setup was easy. Heats up fast and makes a cup fast. I was neither blown away by how great the coffee was nor disappointed. Pretty cool to push a button and have an espresso at home.

Received mine earlier and it seems to be pulling pretty weak shots. What setting changes should I be making? Also, what roast level beans are best for espresso?

I believe the manual says brew 150-200 drinks before adjusting the grind. I'm sure theres a break-in period.

That's a crazy high amount of drinks before adjusting grind 🤔
