We've had the opposite experience. This is a mineral sunscreen, so it physically blocks the sun from damaging your skin. How is it horrible at protecting the skin?

Also use this brand. Have not had that issue. But it is mineral based which means it doesnt have all the chemicals but it does not apply as easily as those brands.

Mineral based = pasty powdery texture, more effort needed to spread. Creates a physical barrier.

Chemical based = harmful chemicals such as avobenzone. Easier to apply, but harmful to the body in the long run.

I haven't personally used this brand, but it is almost the same price for only 1 6oz bottle on Amazon, with almost 9k+ reviews. Seems solid to me.

PSA: This sunscreen is HORRIBLE.... absolutely HORRIBLE at protecting the skin, but I use it on my face only to prevent burning my eyes. I used this several times because the Equate SPF 50 (top rated by Consumer Reports) burns my eyes because of the avobenzene content but found I got burned every single time. The Equate (Walmart brand) SPF 50 protects you much, much better.

For babies/kids this might be better. Be aware too it clumps really quickly so don't stock up like I did!

One of the better sunscreens out there! Scores very high according to ewg as well, unlike the equate mentioned above.

Opposite experience here also. Used it this past weekend in paradise for all the adults and kids in our party in the water. Excellent product at an excellent deal right now!

I also get the equate brand at Walmart and it's been great, why spend 14 times more?

It's possible the poster didn't shake it well before applying. With mineral based sunscreens the minerals can settle, and if you just apply after it sits for a while it's possible that the concentration was low when applied.

Think you are mistaken. I'm not aware Think brands have avobenzene or any of the bad chemicals. I checked their list of ingredients and do not see it either. They use Zinc Oxide as the main protectant. We have been using them for many years and (outside of the white glow it may give you), they have been THE BEST we have ever used.
