This is my third purchase of this same fan. You could say I'm a fan of this fan.

DC motors are a huge improvement. Self balancing so it won't shake. Quiet as the only thing you will hear is the wind not from motor. More power = higher cfm. Over x2 the cfm as a AC fan mean you can set at lower speed for even quieter run. I have something similar that came with a 6" downrod, and I was able to replace it with a 4". Did make the installation more difficult.

In for a couple to try out, been wanting dc motor fan, though still not a fan of led lighting, it looks like this one would be easy to change out when it goes
cannot beat the pricing either
Will be my fathers day gift if they work out

Looks like a great deal for those with ceilings of at least 9'. Do not attempt to install this on an 8' ceiling, unless you are 5' tall or shorter.

As of a few years ago, every ceiling fan in my house is now dc. They are better fans, but maybe not always the ideal choice as they are quite a bit more expensive, as in probably not worth changing a rarely used one just for the power savings, or replace one that is already a good quiet model because dc ones are quiet, that type of thing. That said, they generally are much quieter and much more energy efficient, but as with about anything else, pay attention to the specs as that stuff isn't always a given! I've seen dc fans that really don't use any less power than an ac one, and ones that are relatively loud (usually due to blade design/configuration). Anyways in my climate, those fans are on pretty much 24/7 mar-nov so have been very worthwhile to me.

Desert environment so fan runs most of the year. The fans I have right now are quiet but very dated so just looking for a more modern look, DC is icing

How do I know what power the dc fan draws vs the ac fan . Responding to your comment of paying attention
