For $100 less with the Refurb Pro you'll get more IO and a better screen. I'd go with the Pro. The extra tiny slice of screen that has lower specs, and less IO isn't worth $100 more.

There isn't an endless supply of these M1 Pro units and you're not going to see these prices on M2 Pro MacBooks anytime soon.

As it is, deals on these 14/16" units are few and far between compared to a few months ago.

The back to school offers from Apple should be strong and depending on your state may be able to get no sales tax. Each state has their own rules but Apple usually has a good program and after checkout (even though tax is shown) if you are in a state where you meet the guidelines, the tax is not charged to the card. Laptops and PCS have very low sales and there will be tons of deals bewteen now, back to school and Christmas.

Aside from the slightly smaller screen and slightly more bulk, this is the better machine in every other way. Get the Pro.
