Is the coupon on the generator product page or somewhere else?

I'm only seeing a 5% coupon. I think the 20% coupon might be targeted to certain Amazon customers only.
i noticed that i had coupons on both parent accounts, but the child accounts did not have any coupons.

someone needs to write up an article on how to get coupons on amazon. laugh out loud

I couldn't find true sine-wave mentioned but it does say safe for electronics and <3% THD. Since it has the inverter, is it basically true sine-wave or does it fall short of that preventing the claim?
Inverter generators are acceptable for general home electronics but I wouldn't run my home theater type electronics on that if I could help it. A tv with a cheapish sound bar maybe, but receivers can be sensitive. If I were hell bent on running those types of electronics in an outage, I feel I would have to shell out major $$$ for a whole home battery backup with solar. But that's a whole other level.

One cheap way to separate your electronics from fluctuating emergency power is to charge portable battery banks from dirty power and then charge electronics from portable battery banks. It's not perfect and the battery bank has to be somewhat robust and made for that type of thing if you want it to last, but it's a workable solution for electronics that get charged.

excellent advice!

i need to test charging some of my UPS from a regular generator. some UPS dont like dirty power and will throw a fit.

you may have just save me $700! laugh out loud

So running computer workstations would be okay off of a big battery 1000kwh power stations or do they need to be only if they specify pure sine wave?

What about whole-home natural gas generators?

igen4500DF, when it is on sale, has several advantages. I paid $900 this year for it. Today's price is higher.
EDIT 6/24: IGEN4500DFc is now on sale for $823 with some reporting a coupon bringing it down to $740.

key fob remote control
higher run time with 50% larger tank. 4 hours more up to 18 hours run time
much better graphical digital data center
much quieter at 52 dBA
nicer form factor
larger 224 cc engine

Propane operation: If this is important then you may wish to wait for the propane-only models coming out soon which are optimized to run LPG. Dual fuel generators are really gasoline generators rigged to accept propane. Secondly, 3500 running watt generators will not run on BBQ cylinders in cold weather. The vapor pressure drops too low.

If LPG operation on a home tank for outages were my prime concern then I would buy a conventional for much less. Higher reliability, longer life, higher wattage and higher surge capacity and 240 V operation

The gasoline-only version of the igen4500 has been as low as $585 in the past year. Self contained for better potability, no tank needed, runs up to 14 hrs on one tank 3.4 gallons.

I was referring mostly to small device power banks, but you can most certainly use a bigger battery bank like Bluetti, EcoFlow, etc. That 1000kwh won't run long with workstations, but it should run the hardware fine. If pure sine wave.

Most newer battery banks use pure sine wave but always make sure. Also be aware that if it were pure sine wave, it would be plastered all over the listing. If the listing is vague, assume its simulated sine wave.

As far as whole home generators, it would depend by model but most of the ones I've seen are not inverter generators… so likely, dirty power.

Can you post a link to any info on those next gen propane only models? I've always wondered why not improve the design, especially for the smaller versions that seem to be difficult to start.

I bought the Costco firman dual fuel for $600. Would it be better to spend a bit more for this champion instead?
