here you go
someone needs to write up an article on how to get coupons on amazon.
One cheap way to separate your electronics from fluctuating emergency power is to charge portable battery banks from dirty power and then charge electronics from portable battery banks. It's not perfect and the battery bank has to be somewhat robust and made for that type of thing if you want it to last, but it's a workable solution for electronics that get charged.

What about whole-home natural gas generators?
EDIT 6/24: IGEN4500DFc is now on sale for $823 with some reporting a coupon bringing it down to $740.
key fob remote control
higher run time with 50% larger tank. 4 hours more up to 18 hours run time
much better graphical digital data center
much quieter at 52 dBA
nicer form factor
larger 224 cc engine
Propane operation: If this is important then you may wish to wait for the propane-only models coming out soon which are optimized to run LPG. Dual fuel generators are really gasoline generators rigged to accept propane. Secondly, 3500 running watt generators will not run on BBQ cylinders in cold weather. The vapor pressure drops too low.
If LPG operation on a home tank for outages were my prime concern then I would buy a conventional for much less. Higher reliability, longer life, higher wattage and higher surge capacity and 240 V operation
The gasoline-only version of the igen4500 has been as low as $585 in the past year. Self contained for better potability, no tank needed, runs up to 14 hrs on one tank 3.4 gallons.

Most newer battery banks use pure sine wave but always make sure. Also be aware that if it were pure sine wave, it would be plastered all over the listing. If the listing is vague, assume its simulated sine wave.
As far as whole home generators, it would depend by model but most of the ones I've seen are not inverter generators… so likely, dirty power.
