This takes some gymnastics which people may not fully understand.

Activate the new phone by itself, create a new Tracfone/rewards account use your primary account referral code. Your new account will get 2500pts, you get 5000pts (or more). On day 61 when all points vest, unlock the new phone, and use 2500pts in the new account to buy 2GB of data leaving you 500pts. Then move this new line to your primary account, and merge services into your main line.

Summary: your main line is plus 10 months/1500 min/1500 text/3500 MB data, and you harvest 5000+pts.

Worse than before? Of course! Decent deal as is? Yep!

OPs answer to your question is wrong. You can select existing customer during activation so you can transfer your existing number and minutes to this phone. Then the plan time and the minutes/data will get merged together. I've done it many times and it works just fine.

If you use your existing number, you add this phone to your account, on the same number, not a new number. The promotional services will stack on your existing balances. Always print out your current balance prior to activating the new phone. I normally use either a call center or chat rep to assist the activation and balance transfer. Done it for 10+ years w/o issues. But, YMMV, as some report issues with their reps. The person who told you to get a new number, and try to merge them later is wrong, based on my experience. Dear slickdeals user, i never know 2 lines, from 2 different accounts, can later on merge into a single account. I just wanted to make sure I read it right:... a line from email address [email protected] can merge with a line from email address [email protected]? as long as both have the same owner, address and primary non tracfone phone number? thanks for confirming.

You can combine/merge balances if you deactivate one line. I usually say I would like to combine the balance of xxx-xxx-xxxx to yyy-yyy-yyyy and deactivate xxx-xxx-xxxx.
