Just to let people know. These batteries are fatter than normal batteries. I bought these without realizing since I didn't open them right away and couldn't return.
I noticed all my Amazon batteries get hotter than my Eneloops while charging. Also, many recent reviews are "not great".

However, worth noting these are going for less than $1/per whereas Eneloops recently hit $3+/per. I put Amazon batteries in devices I care less about and save the Eneloops for nicer gear.

They are in any case better than using Alkalines -- I have yet to have a NiMH leak and destroy a device.

I'll be that guy... how do these compare to Eneloops?
Eneloops are made in Japan and the amazon basics are made in china. Coming from someone that has about 30 Eneloops and purchased a couple of amazon basics, the amazon brand are complete trash, garbage, don't last, some will stop working, others won't hold a charge.

Amazon basics used to have made in Japan battery. Do you know if they still have it?

I thought it was a good price until I saw they were $10.75 e few months ago. Even if you buy 3 of them to get the extra 20% off, this ends up being more expensive.

FWIW, these are 1.2V cells. I use these in different devices. When fully charged your devices will only display 80% charged (1.2/1.5).

I have some old Costco Sanyo Eneloops that still work great despite being maybe 10 years old. Once Costco stopped selling them I switched to IKEA Ladda. They're 2450 or 1900mah. Made in Japan. Supposedly rebranded Eneloops and Pros.

It's fatter than the normal batteries you get. I have a pencil sharpener that uses 4 AA batteries. When I put in the last 1 the first 1 pops out and vice versa

I replaced the 800ma batteries in my solar yard lights with these and now they light all night.

Quit being made in Japan, both AA and AAA, years ago.
Maybe 7+ years ago they were re-badged Enloops and good, If you see reviews stating that they are old or no longer accurate. I would not be surprised if the source now changes completely based on price, not quality.

There are minor variations in the so called 'standard' size. Most of the time it does not matter. In a few devices it can be critical.

Which is completely normal for NiMh. Usually makes little to no difference. In some applications the NiMh is absolutely superior (higher current draw). In some things not as good. In a few things they just don't work very well. That's not the fault of the battery, just a characteristic of NiMh you need to find out about.

They are just slightly fatter/rounder. I have a trail cam that takes 9 batteries, while they fit inside the battery compartment, they are very hard to get in and and super hard to get out. These batteries do not fit into my braun thermometer, yet pop easily into a cheap flashlight. it all depends on how tight the battery compartment is.

Use these in the Xbox controllers for the kids. Ordered, even though there are probably a dozen under the cushions or in an old pair of shoes or in some other toy.
