Text I just received:

"T-Mobile: ACTION NEEDED by 07/20/2023. We're making changes to the payment methods that qualify for AutoPay discounts. To continue receiving your $40.00 AutoPay discount, you must update your payment method to a debit card or a bank account. To keep your discount, please visit t-mo.co/AutoPay23 to update your payment method by 07/20/2023."

It just keeps getting better and better.

I would love to give direct access to my bank accounts to a company that gets hacked once per year.

Per T-Mobile rep, this is due to credit card companies changing their processing fee from 2ish percent to over 7...

I'd be fine with it, if it weren't for the fact that hackers seem to call in and request back door access on a regular basis. I don't recollect another company in the recent past that leaks like a sieve.

I do have a nice plan with eight lines (including Apple Watch Max), two $15 insurance plans, Netflix HD or whatever, and my total is $170 with $182.99 in discounts. Hard deal to replicate elsewhere - even at T-Mobile.

I keep getting asked by the reps how the hell I'm paying this low when they're working there for 10 years and don't get the same discount.

People on reddit are saying to put a zero-balance bank number on T-mobile, but remember to pay with credit card each month to still earn credit card cashback.

Just saw this article and it may be of interest. Says they have had 2 breaches in 2023 already. I would like to see a real source of their reps claim of 7% CC fees. Sounds like an exaggeration, made up to calm customers down and see their side.

This is really annoying. You can get free phone insurance by paying with certain credit cards and now that is gone.
