Great price and I'm always intrigued by these but I fear this would reduce the compactness and versatility of my iPad wrt consuming media in different orientations which is my primary use case. Someone tell me why I should buy this anyways

Just picked up a "Fair" white one. But I wouldn't call it fair condition. Very dirty and with a lot of scratches. Keyboard works tho. Don't know if I want to keep it.
