Kenmore just rebrand from other manufacturers. You have to look at the model number prefix to find out who's the actual maker. this one is made by Daewoo. tons of bad reviews on Amzn. I would avoid.

It's amazing that in the past 30 years we have managed to make fridges worse than we did 50 years ago.

Maybe you are joking, but back in the day. You would get a two inch thick catalog of everything they sold, a printed website inventory so to speak. On the months leading up to Christmas I would circle all the toys I wanted. Even way before my time, you could order a house from Sears.
Let me turn on my oldies station WMID on Tunein .

Could you post the list of model number prefix codes and their manufacturers? This is model 75032 so if that's a daewoo, given all the negative comments here on LG ( and personal experience exactly same - compressor failed early and repair people called saying they all do that ) for future posts I'd like to decode who manufacturer is to avoid any clunkers like LG. Thanks

GE is rated one of the best. I would also go with Whirlpool and Frigidaire. The biggest issue with LG/Samsung is their linear compressors. Terrible design and they know it, but refuse to change it.
Gotcha thanks i just got a house and moving in within a month. We can take this to DM too if you want but wondering Costco would be best bet for warranties? Speaking of which would you recommend getting one? Any particular models you recommend?

We're not too picky on it except wanting a water and ice dispenser. Didn't want to drop 2k...but if we need to then we can figure something out. Would prefer to spend half if possible. Thanks will rep

I dont have a particular model recommendation. Just try to stick to those brands. Costco is easy to work with, but still only provide 90 days to return. They do extend the warranty to two years, but most credit cards do that too. The GE profile line does provide a 5 yr compressor and sealed system warranty, but probably more than you want to spend. Personally, I wouldnt buy an extended warranty if you get 2 years already unless it was super cheap.

You need to be careful with Kenmore. Most of their refrigerators are made by LG's appliance devision and they've been sued twice in the last few years for having the worst compressors in the industry.

We had an LG fridge we bought from Costco and the compressor lasted 4 years. The appliance tech told us the repair was at least $1000 and to never buy LG or Kenmore as they're the same and the replacement compressors are just as bad. The three appliance stores we went to when buying a new fridge all basically said "I'm sorry you bought an LG - that's why we don't sell them."

A friend of ours had a Kenmore that lasted 5 years then the compressor failed and they heard the same thing from techs and appliance stores.

Don't rely on this as a main fridge.
LG come with 10 yrs compressor warranty. You shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket.
But yes, I have LG as well, replaced the compressor twice in the last 6 years. LG warranty does live up to it's promise, they even issued a reimbursement check for the food wasted. It's just pain in the ass during those couple days. We would never buy another LG fridge.

Didn't your reply just enforce the point of the original comment?
It takes more effort to find the sweet spot to do this. Right level of engineering to meet standards at just the right level, every time.

It can be called "worse" by layman but it's more effort and precision.

What's the difference between the two? What is a dual evaporator?
It looks like the first frig is counter depth (33" front to back) and the second frig is normal depth (36" front to back).

Having an ice maker in the same location as your fresh foods is asking for trouble. If anyone wants a French door it should be without an ice maker.

Exactly. The SS is already sold out in my area. I guess if you never use it no harm there but get ready for repair bills.

I mentioned to my sister to not buy one of these and she has a Kitchenaid which is the second from the top tier. In under 5 years I have already replaced the ice maker once. Now we have this game where every test I do passes but at times the ice maker stops producing ice. I get to kickstarting it back again by going into the diagnostics mode and forcing water into the ice maker.

Make sure you clean the coils once a year. I think I missed one year and it actually made this issue worse for her. Now it has been several months and the issue has not come back again.

I thought K-Mart and Sears are the only stores that carry Kenmore. After they died out, the brand also disappeared too?

Saw the price and photo and was interested until I saw the reviews. Horrible. I'd pass. I've had luck with GE appliances specifically fridges recently in my different homes I'm going to stick with that.

Interesting that so many people are crapping on LG. We were fridge shopping over the weekend and the salesmen we talked to all recommended LG over other brands, and pointed to how well they rate on CR.

Dang, out of stock in my zip. I wanted to get a new double door frech fridge. Maybe next time.

I feel sorry for the delivery guys when they have to deliver these big ass units up stairs. The Costco delivery guys tell me they do 20 deliveries a day. Be nice to the Costco delivery guys, if you don't wanna tip them, at least give them a bottle of water.
