Kenmore just rebrand from other manufacturers. You have to look at the model number prefix to find out who's the actual maker. this one is made by Daewoo. tons of bad reviews on Amzn. I would avoid.

Just a PSA: I bought a KitchenAid built-in fridge 4 years ago and it has been a disaster. Very expensive initially and have had a ton of repairs. Thankfully I bought the extended warranty. The fridge was just deemed unrepairable so I'm getting a check but that only covers half of what I paid and now I have to buy a new fridge. Will never buy KitchenAid again

Got an order cancellation email because of out of stock.
Feel like killing Costco for wasting so much of my time on researching if this is a good purchase.

To be fair, every brand sells some lemons, and it seems like they all struggle with quality control and longevity these days. Name a brand and you can find tons more bad reviews than you care to read. It's kind of a crapshoot with refrigerators now, I guess, since you may get one that works flawlessly or you may get one that makes you hat your life and smack your grandma.

The EPA restricting the type of refrigerant utilized along with the lowest bidder making plasticized/cheap components really messes up any sort of longevity you're going to get. Relying on a government mandated warranty will just increase the cost by double or triple what its at today, if not more.

I have a huge, heavy beast of a chest freezer from the early 70's I presume. It still runs and operates fine with it's now illegal refrigerant. I've had to clean it out a few times and repaint it though. I got it for free from someone who wanted a newer freezer.

I owned this exact model and it's not worth $500. It failed within the first three months and had a 3 month back order on replacement parts. I had no less than 3 different failures in less than a year. Couldn't return to sears because they were bankrupt and stopped responding to warranty requests. Avoid avoid avoid!!!
