I eventually looked at the washing instructions and it says cold wash and low tumble dry which makes sense considering high heat may melt the fibers altering texture/softness. Anytime we've had a soft/plush blanket that made its way into the dryer it got all wierd because nobody knows how to read laundry tags lol.
Yep, I paid $15 a year or so ago for an EB throw that seems just like the ones offered here. Great value for the cost.

If these are even remotely similar to the ones that they posted on sale during Christmas which had designs and patterns instead of solid colors than this is an amazing price and totally worth it. I believe the ones that they sold on Christmas went for 15 or 20 bucks and they're super soft and extremely warm maybe a little too warm but a great value nonetheless.
I bought one of these blankets last time it was on the front page. After one wash, the white furry side of the blanket became a lot less soft. The texture of it changed significantly.

I experienced this too unfortunately. The 2 different blankets I bought in the past few years were not the typical Eddie Bauer quality, especially after being washed.

Is that something you should do or shouldn't do with it?

These are great to throw in your car for the winter should you ever get stuck, or some random needs.
Daily use? No way. 100% polyester to wrap around my body to be cozy? It's NOT pleasant .These will NEVER last and create more waste.
Find a REAL cotton/ wool SOFT blanket and you will never go back to these. Yes, they cost 10x more but you won't need to buy one every year and the feeling of what true coziness is.
