There are occasionally issues with unlocking.
Message 611611 with UNLOCK and you get automated response when device will be unlocked. Device needs to be activated first for 60-day counter.

For all Apple devices activated with Total by Verizon prior to November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked after twelve (12) months of active Total by Verizon Service. For Apple devices activated with new Total by Verizon Service on the Total by Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked sixty (60) days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud.
Also, this is my conversation with a Total Wireless agent.
Phone can use other SIM card after 60 days once the phone is active.

Earlier it probably was 12 month unlock. But since the move to Verizon it should unlock in 60 days.
