I don't trust them unlocking it after 60 days. It says locked to their service.
Have bought two XR, one iPhone 11 in the past year with Total Wireless and Straight Talk. Latest was a used 11 bought in January this year, unlocked after one month payment and 60-days.

There are occasionally issues with unlocking.

Message 611611 with UNLOCK and you get automated response when device will be unlocked. Device needs to be activated first for 60-day counter.

Do i have to use this iPhone for the service period? Or can I put the sim card in another phone I own and use that instead?

Activate first with the purchased phone and then move SIM to another device. Phone needs to be on network first for 60-day count down to unlock.

Just read thru your post and a coupla other posts above yours, so I'll chime in:

Walmart iphones should all come with the appropriate sim card. WFM uses the Verizon network.

WFM unlock policy:
"For Customers with Apple devices: Walmart Family Mobile will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible for unlocking. For all Apple devices activated with Walmart Family Mobile prior to November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked after twelve (12) months of active Walmart Family Mobile Service. For Apple devices activated with new Walmart Family Mobile Service on the Walmart Family Mobile network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked sixty (60) days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud."

There is however a possible way to bypass this by inserting a preferably unactivated prepaid at&t sim and then requesting same day unlock from at&t. Hopefully people will chime in if this works. Will save you $25 right there, making this a better deal than direct from Total Verizon.
Can't comment on WFM, but Tracfone (such as straight talk) will come locked to Tracfone until the 60 days are up post activation.

Anyone tried to activate this phone to Verizon prepaid plan for 30 days and bring it overseas. Will it automatically unlock after 60 days while outside the US? Thanks!

Thanks for posting details SlickPickSlim. One quick question - does it matter which WFM plan I choose? I would like to go with the lowest available plan for $25. Also, like OP posted does it get unlocked after 60 days even if you purchased only 1 month service?
Any WFM plan will do. Only days after activation matter, not days in continuous service or whatnot. So you can activate, turn it off, and put it in a drawer for two months as an example.

You only need to pay one month. After the month expires you will have already activated the phone and after 60 days the phone will unlock.
This is confirmed? I did the total by Verizon deal yesterday...so I only need to activate with the initial $30 plan and let it sit for 60 days?

I was nervous about my Straightalk phones also but both unlocked automatically as scheduled.

Nothing special, I guess I'm not sure if it ships with physical sim card without without adding any plan while ordering.
