I do not believe TruConnect is owned by T-mobile, it just uses T-mobile's network which is different from being an MVNO. This phone does work on Mint which is now a T-mobile MVNO.
I put the phones IMEI# on the Access Wireless site and it cleared. Access works on the Sprint network. What that means, I don't know b/c TM bought Sprint. Anyway, I sold the phone so I have no more worries (except what new phone to buy LOL)

I just wanted to say thanks. I bought this phone when this deal was posted and got it unlocked and it's now a Visible phone on the $25 a month plan. I use it as a backup phone to give to my daughter on long drives. Great deal!

Any spectrum users able to get this phone work? If so, how did you do it? It's using verizon tower in our area. I bought an unlock code from ebay and successfully "unlock" it. It works perfectly for tmobile sim, but not Spectrum sim card. Any suggestions?

No, it won't work with Spectrum. I had them on the phone for another issue and they wanted to give me a free year of cell service. I really didn't need it but I asked the rep. to check this phone. She said no, they don't have many Moto phones on their list.

I call BS to Spectrum's claim that the phone won't work on their network, for the following reasons:

1) They actually offered this same model phone (Moto G Stylus 5G 2022) for their mobile service (a Spectrum version of the phone likely locked to them) -- product page below:
https://www.spectrum.com/mobile/p...eel%20Blue

2) For BYOD service, they have a compatibility checker tool on-line here:
https://www.spectrum.com/mobile/b...lity-check

Click on the "Motorola" logo. When prompted for an IMEI, enter the IMEI of a generic (factory unlocked) version of the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 phone (you may use "357952821000000" or replace the last six zeros with whatever #s you want).

The BYOD checker reports (for me) that the PHONE IS COMPATIBLE:
Your Motorola moto g stylus 5G (2022) is compatible

However, if entering the IMEI of the Boost version of the phone (regardless of whether you've unlocked it), it reports that the phone is NOT COMPATIBLE. Maybe this is due to some type of agreement carriers have with Motorola not to (easily) allow competing carrier's phones on their own network (provided the carriers lock phone service to IMEI #s and not just SIM Card #s). I ran into this PRECISE issue trying to get the Boost mobile version of the phone (Moto G Stylus 5G 2022) working on Metro by T-Mobile. I documented the ordeal (and resolution w/ Metro) in this post:

https://slickdeals.net/f/16548907-moto-g-stylus-5g-2022-steel-blue-128-gb-10-40-service-plan-boost-mobile-locked-9-99?p=165632122#post165632122

Perhaps a similar process can be followed w/ Spectrum (YMMV) to get the IMEI # of the Boost Phone added to Spectrum's database of permissible IMEIs.

They didn't even ask for the IMEI, just the model of the phone. She said there were no Stylus models on their 'bring your own phone' list. I really didn't care since I've been with Verizon forever, but for a free line, it would have been a spare.

Then whoever you spoke w/ at Spectrum either straight up lied to you, was grossly misinformed, or Spectrum has since expanded their list of permissible phones. The IMEI checker link I posted earlier (w/ a sample IMEI # showing the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 as being compatible) is proof that Spectrum will accept the generic version of that phone, which has Stylus in its name.

Don't know whether Spectrum charges taxes & fees on their mobile lines; however, back when they pushed people to sign up for home/landline phone service (over the cable TV coax wire), at times offering it "free" for the first year, that "free" line of service added around $10/mo in taxes & fees to one's cable service bill. So much for a "free" line of service. Thus, even if Spectrum will ultimately accept the Boost version of the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, before accepting "free" mobile service, you may want to get clarity on any monthly mobile service taxes & fees.
