No. You want a stability shoe for flat feet. Asics GT line or kayano, the gts variants from Brooks or the guides in saucony. I know how has a stability line but I'm not sure the name off the top of my head.

I highly recommend the Asics personally as someone who has flat feet and has been in the shoe business a long time. Main thing is getting your size right because the denser foam in the arch needs to hit right or they will feel like crap.

HOKA's are amazing shoes. It's like they tried to make this shoe as ugly as possible. Only the fugliest are discounted.

You're parroting a marketing spiel. HOKA is not a running shoe brand nor a trail running brand. They're an athleisure focused brand. You're building them up to be something they don't even claim to be. As for Vibram, shoe brands are moving away from their proprietary treads and developing their own outsoles to avoid the licensing fees.
Most brands make athleisure stuff and real running stuff. Like, are you gonna tell me that Nike isn't athleisure while at the same time gonna say that they don't make excellent running shoes?

Where am I saying Hoka is specifically a running brand or a trail running brand? What are you even on about?

And so what if companies are starting to make their own outdoor outdoor compounds? Does that suddenly mean Vibram isn't good?

Let me see your ultra marathon time, if you're gonna say it's not a legit activity lol

Wow! So, the opposite question. What do you like for high arches?

Not familiar with this particular model but I have 3 pairs of Clifton 8's and they're the best shoes I've ever owned and I was a long time Brooks GTS/Adrenaline guy. I also have fairly flat feet, I also went down 1/2 a size and a wide width and the fit is fantastic!

Every wide size of all the Hoka's are unavailable. Guess they are for smallish people.

My doctor recommended the Brooks Addiction, but the company changed the formula and they are no longer recommended.

just got them today. they are light and comfortable, except the tongue seems a bit thin. overall feel is a bit different (from fila) though, like walking on a boat, with thin outsoles. will need to try this out longer term to really see how it turns out.

Well I personally don't have high arches so that is a hard thing for me to answer sorry. I BELIEVE you want something like the ASICS Gel Nimbus or the Brooks Ghosts for daily walkers/light running. For heavier runners that's well outside my experience set unfortunately.

I would suggest taking a look and trying Aetrex insoles specifically for high arches. I use and recommend them for overpronation and have for a decade or more now and have zero complaints. My guess is until you find a shoe that works for you, Aetrex insoles might make the rest better at least. Wish I had better answers for your specifically. I know what shoes to recommend for people with a neutral gate and/or overprontation, but less knowledgeable on high arches as they aren't super common honestly. Good luck, and if you find something that works send me info, would love to have better recommendations in the future for people.

Thank you!

You're welcome. Funny enough since this thread came up one of Hoka's stability shoes hit on sale at REI so I have a pair on the way to finally try. Super curious how they feel, probably won't fit because they only had normal width but still should give me some idea of how htey are made.

Good luck finding the right pair in the right size is literally life changing. At 16 I ran 2 hours of basketball a day, weighed 140 lbs less than now and was 16 instead of 35. My feet and legs hurt less now than they did then and it's not even close. My Dad in his fifties has been disabled since he was 29 with severe fibromyalgia and I got him a pair a few years back and he went from max 2-3 hours on his feet per day to 4-5. Was just a huge improvement for him.
