I've had this drill driver for about 6.5 years, and for the price it's hard to beat for home and light workshop use. It's no Milwaukee but it's a good reliable basic tool. The original battery is still going strong after many recharges and regular use.

Be advised that the charger is a bit cheesy; it does the job but isn't near as convenient as drop-in chargers. Beyond that, the only thing that I've missed using this tool is a high/low speed switch that the more expensive brands all have, so it has a tendency to stall on high torque loads. Otherwise it has respectable speed and a decent clutch, and has been super reliable. The price is so good that I'd buy another if my current one fails. Hard to beat for less than $30. Although if you're looking to enter a cordless ecosystem with several tools at low prices, I'd recommend that you take a look at Ryobi. I have those as well, and they're much more powerful and robust than the entry level B&Ds. If you wait for deals on Ryobi, they can be had for insanely low prices pretty regularly.

Lowest price ever (since 2013) on Amazon according to Keepa. I got one 3 years ago for $29.

A good basic drill for around the house.

I had one quit after about 7 years of basic household use. That's a good lifespan for a drill this price. Bought another one and I highly recommend it.

Used to have it for like 10 years but it eventually died where smoke was coming from motor. I'll probably get something more reliable like Milwaukee if one is into some home repairs

While I've had black and deckers and craftsman's, I'm actually pretty impressed with the hart drills from last weeks deal.

Doesn't a battery cost more than this drill with battery and charger?

I'll be honest.. for half the price but the same performance as Ryobi with an insane product line.. stuff like the blankets and all.. Im a fan! Don't get me wrong.. I don't know if they are quite "make a living" tools.. but they absolutely have a role in your arsenal

I have the first Gen of this drill and it's been abused, left outside, hung drywall for my entire basement and more. This is a no brainer for someone needing a drill or even a secondary drill to keep in the house so you don't have to run to the garage for a quick task. I have a second one similar to this that I use when I'm drilling holes and driving screws at the same time. Don't have to keep switching between bits.

Like everyone is saying, great little drill. Bought a couple of these over the years and use them for drilling holes in drywall and building purchased furniture/things that need to be assembled. Perfect for fragile/light work. Not really powerful enough to break something. Haha.

I just cancelled my order for a battery from a major home supply store that was $43.xx for the 1.5 Ah battery. I see Amazon sells the 2.0 for about 51. Thanks
