is this why newegg increased price on quite a few gpu in the last few days? so you have to use this "deal" to bring the price down to last week's level except maybe the tax part is higher now

I wish they had the Sapphire Nitro and Sapphire Pulse for this price, they have the best coolers of the AMD cards.

Not quite the same price, but Amazon does have the Sapphire Pulse for $899

The Sapphire Nitro also has $100 off making it $1,029, which I believe is an all-time low.
Prices do seem to be coming down, but it seems like it won't go below 1k until BF prob.

Unpopular opinion: with the economy not looking so good and consumer tech sales slumped, I think frivolous purchases like this will drop in price long before BF.

Yeah I noticed that shortly after I made my comment, before it only had like a $20 off coupon or something but then I refreshed the page and Amazon changed it to a $100 off coupon. It also stacks with the $10 off if you choose an Amazon locker as the delivery address.

The Sapphire Nitro was actually cheaper like a week ago ($1,009.99 + tax) but Amazon raised the price recently from $1069.99 - $60 to the current $1,129.99 - $110 promo. The question now is if you prefer the Sapphire branded cards because they have better coolers than the other vendors ... do you go for the Pulse card for $889.99 or do you go for the Nitro card for $1,019.99... is a better cooler and slightly higher clock speed worth the $130 premium?

Everything is going to be cheaper if you wait long enough, the question is do you really want to wait that long or pay a little extra to enjoy things now?

They've literally never been this cheap. Not saying to buy it but this is in no way "last week's level"

it's future proofing I guess. Haven't seen a game come close to 24..some games are 12gb+ tho. Coming close to 16gb..so 24 doesn't hurt to have

Some games will use a lot as time goes on. But if you do any kind of 3D modeling or video editing you would be surprised how quickly 24gb will run out and you would need two of these things 😱

This has been on Newegg for months (with price gradually coming down). It's the only remaining AMD Reference version of the card as all others were essentially recalled and no one has had them on sale. Except Asrock.
Not sure why they didn't send their inventory back to AMD.

For those out of the loop, this is a "Reference" version of the card. It was sold by AMD under the MBA (Made by AMD) branding. AMD also had multiple partners sell the same card under their own branding. All cards are same besides the box branding and who handled service.

The cards ran into issues with their hot spot temps basically running away capping out at 110C limit and causing cards to throttle down to keep the temps at 110C limit. AMD later announced that it was a limited batch of defective coolers. This later turned to AMD requesting all unsold inventory be sent back by the retailers. Most all did and the card hasn't come in stock since. Except Asrock, they apparently kept it up. Most people who had issues either got refunds or the partners replaced the cards with an AIB version of the card.

Either way, if you DO end up buying this, run all your thermal tests regarding T-Junction runaway while with-in return period for Newegg.

Avoid if possible altogether though, not worth the possible headache. You can opt for one of the AIB versions if in the market for 7900XTX.
