Damn a 7900 XTX for $855, it might actually be worth putting up with the afirm + newegg + hard credit inquiry + afirm charging interest since the first day bs for that much of a discount.
Affirm is NOT a hard credit inquiry. I used Affirm around December for a deal and it never showed up on my credit report. I also was not charged any interest from them, but I did make my payments on time, so this could be a problem for people that don't make their payments on time.

Someone else posted this on one of these other affirm deals: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc..._xtx_24gb/ some noteworthy quotes from the thread include:

"Some of the reviews on the App Store for affirm said they were charged interest while payments were still processing while trying to pay in full."

"They are right. I did get charged one day of interest. Not saying this with the intention of being snarky, but just to say that those reviews are right.
might be worth depending on how much your APR is. Unless you get an absurd rate, it should be less than a dollar daily so should be worth it if you pay it off almost immeidately."

Even if you dont get charged any interest or any hard inquiry you still have to deal with Affirm and Newegg. Newegg has a bad reputation for not accepting returns, sending out used/damaged products, and mislabeling products (IE Brand New item was actually open box or a customer return when received).
I'm more worried about buying a big ticket item from Newegg than Affirm. Newegg has a history of selling defective customer RMA's as new and then denying the returns. I wouldn't buy from Newegg without using a credit card with good protections. I usually don't mind paying a few bucks extra from Amazon, etc for the better customer service/return policy.

Same here, id rather spend a little extra and buy from Amazon where I dont have to worry about a return/exchange getting denied if something shady happens to my order like if I get sent a customer returned item or a used item instead of the brand new item that I ordered. There have even been several tech youtubers that made videos about how shady Newegg is and their experiences with Newegg being shady.

From everything I could find online, including Affirm themselves, they never conduct a hard inquiry. They only do a soft pull of your credit. I'm debating getting one, but my 3080 has been running games pretty well still on my 1440p ultra-wide. It would help with some of the horribly optimized games that have been releasing over the last few months, but I think I'd rather just avoid those games until they fix them. I hate giving shady developers my money.

If I had an RTX 3080 I wouldnt spend money on a new video card, im still running a GTX 970 LMAO I only pulled the trigger on a Sapphire Pulse 7900 XTX for $890 today because my current PC is almost 10 years old already and im having trouble playing the latest games. Ive also already had one of my mechanical hard drives and one of my ram sticks die from my 10 year old pc.

This is what I ended up building (im still waiting for a few parts to be shipped to put it together): https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Wis...ved/wQPn23 the 2.5 inch SSD's are re-used from my 10 year old pc.

For $4k, you can easily build a very very nice 4090. If i was spending that much, 4090 is the only gpu i would consider

Remember though that those prices include things like Noctua case fans, a Cyberpower UPS that I overpaid on (it went on sale for like $50 less a week after I bought it), my old 2.5 inch SSD's from like 10 years ago from when 2.5 inch SSD's were much more expensive, and 7% sales tax is also included in all the prices.

The 7900XTX is 80-85% the performance of the 4090 at a little over half the price. I also don't need any other components, as the rest of my components are more than powerful enough.

While this is true, I've ordered tens and tens of thousands of dollars (prob close to 100k) and have never had an issue. You should be using PayPal/credit cards when shopping online anyway. Debit is a bonehead move. I've deff heard a couple horror stories but 99.9% of the time, you will be fine.

Unless Ray tracing is a must for you (it's not for most), then this is by far a better value. 85%+ of the raster performance for 55% of the price. Pretty silly argument that the 4090 is the only card to consider 👎

Originally bought this for my new build off Newegg. My unit had moderate coil whine, pretty annoying as I could hear it while gaming. Ordered a Sapphire Nitro+ recently off Amazon (~$100 more). The Nitro has super slight coil whine that cannot be heard over my speakers, but I've only had it for a day so haven't had a chance to try out too many games on it. People on Reddit say the vapor chamber cooler thingy and better bin is worth the benjamin for the Nitro. I may try out the Pulse that's on sale at Amazon.
