They have no shortage of mechanic tool sets in cases, but I wanted something to fill out a tool chest and it seems the trays can go straight into one:
https://youtube.com/shorts/1nZ_2d...ture=share

No organizers needed.

I didn't know about this and ended up going with the Quinn Master Tech 428pc tool set (box of bagged tools). I would have rather had this DeWALT set for the lifetime warrantee on individual sockets. I can't even imagine wrangling 428 loose pieces back to Harbor Freight for one split socket. I've also had to spend a small fortune on organizers that I would not have needed if I got DeWALT instead.

Still tempted to fill out the tool cart with this.

Ironic that the primary complaint about this set is that it doesn't come in a case when that's precisely why I want it.

I can't decide between this 341 set and this 226 set. https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL...35#overlay
The box adds some value to me but has significantly fewer pieces.

While I like DeWalt for their power tools, shop vac, chain saw, and weed wacker when it comes to their hand set they never test at the top, even vs Home Depot's Husky brand at Project Farm youtube channel. Anyone has any experience with both or is my one source not a good one?

I do love the trays these come in to keep it all organized.

Do the two plastic trays hold all the stuff, or are there more than 2 trays?

I have a full 20 yo Craftsman kit and I accidentally ran over the blow molded case and now it wont shut right, stay shut, or keep the sockets in place.
I got a Ridgid box to replace it but I need socket holders, lol.
(that wrench tray looks nice. The sears set came with wrenches but no place to put them)

I have a giant set of DeWalt hand tools and I can confirm, they are nothing special and I have ended up buying better alternatives for every single one of the most commonly used items like sockets, socket wrenches, and wrenches themselves. They're not bad, they're just no better than any other cheap set like a big box store brand for the most part. The socket wrenches are large, heavy, and 72T so I almost never use them. The wrenches have terrible tolerances compared to my GearWrench set, and the sockets are somewhat difficult to read, though I do like the knurling on them as that makes them easy to hand tighten. This isn't a bad deal for the amount of tools you get, but there is no premium to be had here for the DeWalt name and if you're looking to get a starter set your money is just as well spent on a cheaper Husky set.

Looks like three really thin trays. Probably vacu-formed, which would be suitable for organization in a stationary tool chest drawer but not meant to be routinely transported.

I often hear the same sentiment from others, so your experience seems to be well-supported. "Good screwdrivers/bits but hand tools are no better than other Taiwan-made store brands." Wonder if they plan to bring some of their Mac Tools RBRT tech to their DeWALT stuff, since they are the same company:
https://youtu.be/hxtgWSpTC0o

Do you have any experience with their 12pt "DirectTorque Technology" that they are bragging about here? From the image I can't tell if they are talking about sockets or the box end of their wrenches.

Seems like someone is a DeWalt fan for their drive tools and down voted everyone above who questioned it but yet not a single comment as to why or share their experience Confused

And this is someone asking who has many DeWalt power tools and impact sockets from them.

Almost jumped in this because of the trays rather than the blow molded case but for some reason Dewalt combined 12pt and 6pt. I would rather have had all 6pt so I will pass.
