I would be possibly interested to use as a monitor but looks like it's not great at that

I was able to score the 55 inch version [amazon.com] for $109.99 last year so I'm hopeful/optimistic I can get this deal as well; thx OP.

Regarding the 55 inch, the colors were terrible and all washed out. No matter what I did, I never could get the picture to be acceptable.

However, when I connected a Fire Stick 4K Max and tried to adjust the picture quality while the TV was in the HDMI input for it, picture quality improved extraordinarily. Once I adjusted the Black Level and White Level via the Screen Test app [amazon.com], I saw a big improvement.

I set the Fire Stick 4k Max Display settings to the following before adjusting the picture settings when using the Screen Test app [amazon.com]….

Color Depth = 12bits

Color Format = YCbCr

Dynamic Range Settings = Always HDR

I mention all this because at first the 55 inch version of this deal made an awful impression and I'm assuming that the 43" version will have the same issues.

IMO you can improve picture quality dramatically by not using the built in FireTV OS of these TVs and using a Fire TV 4k Max stick instead.

No invite or decline here yet. This is just stupid. How many people are NOT going to buy a TV during this sale because they are waiting to see if they get in on this?
Just buy one with the slowest shipping so you can cancel before it ships if you find a better deal.

Well seeing as there aren't any other really good deals on TVs, except the now closed Panasonic 50", I'll say they aren't losing very much.

Prices were actually cheaper on the days before Prime day.

Requested invite 3 weeks ago. Nothing. Opened my Amazon account in 1999. I guess that's not good enough…

This seems to be the only other really good deal on the TV's left.

Hisense 50" 4K QLED. I think it has local brightness to help with HDR. Rtings tested the bigger version and it had local dimming, but it was unclear if the 50" does.

From the Amazon Page: Peak Brightness / Full Array Local Dimming Zones: This television offers up-to-600 nits peak brightness across up to 32 local dimming zones. Above average peak brightness and local dimming are critical to correctly reproducing HDR content.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WNJT9X3/

On Rtings, it is the runner up for best TV (I think under $500).

I almost got it, but ended up with the Panasonic deal for $150, but it's not QLED.

Well,

My bedroom TV died a few months ago. Decided I could waste $150 on something I didn't use very often.

I saw the invite so I passed over a couple OK deals on hopes of the "invite deal".

Turns out not only did I not get the invite, buy they raised the price on the deals I was looking at.

Luckily I saw the "sold out" Panasonic deal and after hitting refresh a few minutes, I happened to grab that for the $150 I had hoped to spend.

Looks like the TV in this deal might be a little better quality, but the Panasonic is a little bigger, so it's a wash.

Although if I saved the $50, I could have bought something else to go with it.
The pioneer has the better picture quality according to this comparison video.

I also was able to get the lightning deal for the pioneer but still considering the omni for a second bedroom, doubt I'll get an invite at this point though.

I obviously made it up with the express intent if deceiving you.

Contextually, was it not clear that what I quoted was from Amazon itself?

Looking for an alternate in the ~40" size for a bedroom TV since it seems unlikely I'll get an email from Amazon soon. What are people's thought about this Pioneer 43" 4K for $160? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09F3TW5CP?

There is also a 40" TCL 1080P for $150 that is recommended by Consumer Reports. Having 4K is not critical, and would prefer the one with the best overall image quality and reliability and features and not just high resolution. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YX4ZV4F/

I've given up. I've had an Amazon account since they were only selling books in the last century. My family and I spend thousands every year. I guess we aren't special enough.
