That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.

If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.

The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

Does 5% apply to purchase to get gift card? So if I buy a ps5, $200 goes to it, does the other $200 or $300 get discounted by 5%?

5% applies to the balance that is getting charged to your Amazon Visa card. So the $200 gift card does not apply for 5%, just the remaining balance that is deducted.

No, Amazon says it's chase problem and chase says they don't have offers for Amazon. It's an Amazon link issue and no one knows how to fix it

When you use a friends link , the person signing up does not get anything extra, right?

(please no PMs, I've already signed up , not looking for a code)

Also, how is the 5% redeemed, is it just automatically applied, or do you manually have to redeem it?

I made an account, but where do you even find the refer a friend link? It doesn't seem to be anywhere under accounts or cards.
