That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.

If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.

The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

Yes but that says I'm going to get $50. Makes no mention of the person I referred getting $200.

I had the Amazon prime store card, through synchrony bank. I applied for the chase visa Amazon prime card and got the $200 gift card. Is that what you were asking? If so, then yes it works.

I applied for this yesterday ..when trying to see pre-approval I always get they can't check so I ended up just buying and applying got a msg 30 day wait for decision. 2 hours later chase called from fruad department asking if I applied and I confirmed I did and was approved on the spot for 3k and 200 giftcard was instantly on my Amazon account , card arrives in seven days

Do you have prime? My friend had the same problem, but his issue was, his account wasn't prime yet.

So my wife has the Amazon Prime account in her name. I have the solid credit though. Can I apply under her account and have it loaded to her account? Guessing they won't let spouses do that since name on Prime Account needs to match cc.

Received postcard invitation from Amazon, promo link was also in my Amazon account. Thawed Experian, instant approval, $200 gift certificate was promptly in my account. Although I have not yet received the card, Amazon also made it the default for payment Confused

You can still use the card on Amazon before you receive it.

You are lucky. I thawed Equifax and Experian and they pinged Transuinon and I had to callin to get it approved
