I don't use these but my brother does. He's been using a reusable steel one that he purchased from Alibaba for years now. It's not as convenient as these Nespresso's but the price they charge for each capsule is insane.

I personally just french press my coffee.

It's very difficult. I got a reusable pod with aluminum foil stickers. It works OK but the coffee is always weak. A coarse grind is suggested. I tried and in the end gave up and now use Nespresso or third party pods. Will move to a super automatic soon.

I love my Nespresso Vertuo machine and the coffee it makes, but the capsules definitely come with a premium price tag. I'm thankful when deals like this roll around every once in a while so I can stock up!
