Trying to decide whether I should get a beeline for HTPC around 200?

Or buy something like this that works as backup computer and HTPC both?

What am I missing here? This is a mini form factor PC with an Intel laptop CPU that's three generations old for $360. Furthermore, that CPU has a pretty gimped GPU - I don't even think it's the Iris graphics that other chips from this generation have.

This doesn't seem like that amazing of a deal. I realize it's purportedly $140 off, but $500 for these specs seems silly.

For reference, I just bought the 2023 GenMachine Ryzen 7 with the 7730U CPU, 32GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro from AliExpress for $311. I think it was $320 shipped, with taxes. Ports appear to be about the same. I'm still waiting on it to arrive, but user reviews seem decent.

Not thread-crapping. But I'm not seeing the value. Am I off base?

I think a lot if people aren't comfortable with aliexpress, I know my dealings have been hit or miss. But I do agree, there is a much better machine on Amazon lighting deal that's far better than this for $420 after coupin but SD doesn't want it made available to their users so I can't post it

Beelink uses different accounts for their different warehouses, apparently they aren't a fan of that here on SD so they removed the link saying it did meet the 3rd party requirements but it's a beelink account that has been around over 6 months at least. SD plays games, like almost hold sellers hostage. A few months back I posted a rockpals deal and they removed it stating that rockpals didn't qualify as a 3rd party seller too 2 weeks later they were being allowed and when I contacted the mod who took down my post they said they now qualify and it's been worked our. My guess is rockpals started to play ball and pay up

Didn't have any of those issues - had some issues with Windows refusing to update but fixed that when I updated the time zone.

prob overkill for a website server or something like that. I got one of the small form factors from the dell refurb site with the 50% coupon for 179$ and has similar specs. you'll have to upgrade to ssd though
