This one has exact the same function of the original one. It has smaller foot print and less parts to clean after use. Wait till it drop below $120 or just look for the original one. If you have the original one and need more containers, get them now. Each model uses different design of pint jars and the old one is being discontinued.

I just got the original creamy as a gift from the girlfriend for Father's Day, and it has been one of the greatest gifts I've ever received in my life!
Easily the greatest kitchen gadget I've ever owned!
The following recipe will knock your socks off and has under 250 calories per pint:
Fairlife vanilla protein shake 14oz
7 g or one tablespoon of sugar-free chocolate pudding mix
Two tablespoons of PB2

Either still really well or mixed together with a frother and then freeze for 24 hours.
Use the light ice cream setting on the creamy, when it's done, add one tablespoon of milk of your choice, I use unsweetened almond milk to cut down on the calories, and then re-spin.

Enjoy!

We have the original (16 oz cups) and the Deluxe (24 oz cups). Both are in nearly daily use, especially in the Deep South summers.
This one seems to be just a slight variation of cup placement in relation to the original. Wouldn't pay full price for it, when the same 7-in-1 Creami original can be had for half price... but might be something someone else finds more convenient.

Where are you finding the 7 in 1 original for $100? I think a whole lot of people would jump on that deal.

Probably referring to the Costco deals versions. I got mine at Kohl's for $130 after tax or something (if you discount the kohls cash earned or whatever).

Old unit with outer "cup holder":
Woot had it for under $80 recently (can't remember if refurb'd or not), amazon runs specials sometimes, and with Kohl's stackable coupons, there's been prices below $70 (maximizing all available options), so there's a good bit of options out there. Costco runs it for <$100 new and Wally has the 5-in-1 for around $100 (if you don't need some of the functions, that may also be a useful option).

Again, we find the original holding up great. Doubtful they insulated the motor noise adequately to be much more quiet in the new one (although plastic gears may be dampening the noise a bit). We don't mind. It's less than 2 minutes of noise for a custom pint of ice cream... worth it for us.

the old design is build to last the new one have more convenience to clean but with the trade of of cheaper components inside.( weaker plastic gears and motor )

get the old one if you plan to use it close to every day
get the new one if you just use it once a week or less
That's not accurate at all. The new one simplifies the design because ostensibly Ninja was dealing with countless broken parts coming back. So they updated the design to solve problems, not to make it worse FFS.

The old model has a mixing lid that is virtually impossible to clean and guaranteed to grow mold (which will infect your food as it's in contact with it). The new one has a different mixing lid design completely.

Not sure where you made up the stuff about the gearing being different. They weigh the same and are both beasts.

I've had no trouble cleaning the mixing lid.

Please link to proof about weaker motors and plastic gearing. I'm highly skeptical because light ice cream is primarily ice and that would absolutely destroy anything of lesser quality.

Just because you can Add to Cart doesn't mean it is in stock. I ordered this same unit nearly a month ago and it said Add to Cart. I'm still waiting for them to ship my unit, despite several calls and them saying it would ship soon.

Same, I have never seen such proof. As far as I've seen, this is superior to the original design. And for everyone else who is poopooing on this deal, it's a deal like it or not. You can't find these in stock or able to order for MSRP let alone this price unless you want to hunt Sam's all day.
