I suspect this will not be a hard price to get now that the Fenix 7 Pro is out, making this two versions old. I'm currently using a Fenix 6X pro (larger screen/battery, but no solar) and it's still a lot of watch for the money. IMO it's worth it if you are looking for a good all around GPS running/multisport watch, but I don't know that it's spectacular price that you'll never be able to get again either.

I purchased the 6 Pro around 20 months ago for $399. At first, I was against wearing a watch or any type of sports tracker, but I have found my Garmin extremely useful when doing workouts because it keeps me on pace with the progression of my sets and rest times. It is (somewhat) accurate when counting the number of reps in each set regarding most exercises.

Concerning other activities... It does a good job at tracking my stats on a mountain bike (average speed, heart rate, feet ascended and descended, as well as grit/flow/jumps) and a decent job at tracking my indoor climbing stats (route difficulty, number of routes, total ascent, etc.). One of the things I like best is how well it tracks me during multiple activities/events during an adventure race.

My one suggestion is to purchase a quick drying hook and loop watch band--and wash it at least once a week. I wore it for a month straight and I can't get the smell out (no matter how much vinegar and baking soda I use!).

I always buy versions behind due to the better price. I can't bring myself to pay over $500 just because it's the latest and greatest. They always come down. And the resale value of the old is a built in discount so I'm rarely paying $200 out of pocket. That said this is an awesome deal. My 6X Pro was $400 ($200 out of pocket).

If your looking for a cheaper Garmin search SD for for Garmin 245, $80 with promo code FOS20SUMR. I bought one when first posted killer watch for $80. I will upgrade soon but this was a great proof of concept starter watch for me. Maybe in a year, maybe not, very impressed so far, except for O2 sensor, but I got thickass wrists.

Fenix 7 Pro is the latest gen released in May 2023 and Fenix 7 is the prior gen released in Jan 2022. Fenix 6 Pro was released in Aug 2019
