That works well, but this works even better because of the non-slip grip and retractable bit that accounts for the width of the saw's shoe.

Just get the Kreg KMA4100 Crosscut Station [amazon.com] it is only $10 more. I use mine more for making just one cut than hauling out the old big saw.

I just use a framing square with a circular saw, it works great as a guide.

Absolutely agreed, nothing wrong with using the tried-and-true framing square. Smilie

If I can remember where it is, I think it'll be helpful. Planning on building my bus, and cutting angles can be tedious. Not too bad, but I do see how this could save a little time.

I have the previous version of this that didn't do 45° cuts, and it worked really well. This version is going for $20 at the orange hardware store, so $10 is a decent price where you don't even have to use gas.

Yeah, for 10 bucks, this is easily something you should add to your toolkit if you don't have one

can someone enlighten me, what makes this better than a speed square/carpenter square? other than the grip/rubber base, and retractable cut line (which i can semi see with left or right blade). learning to use a speed square is far more beneficial.

This has a little "indicator" that you can dial in to the (pencil)cut mark. With a speed square, you have to line up your saw blade with the (pencil) cut mark. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but after you dial the kreg version in....you don't have to "think about" the line up.

Just saw its on sale at Kreg's site too, till june 30, but shipping is $6. I personally will not be purchasing at as i'm fine with a speed square, and my circular saw is left side blade, and site line is easier. https://www.kregtool.com/shop/cut...A4000.html

yup watched the video on amazon and this doesn't look worth carrying--I don't see how it's more difficult to line up your blade with a pencil mark rather than use this "cut line", also I've never seen anyone use this on a job site

FYI: was hoping that this would be better than speed square because of motor housing hitting raised base of the frame, but a few negative reviews say that it's no better.
