Weber.com is offering a $50 savings on its 400 Series full-size griddle insert for Weber Genesis and Genesis II grills (4 burner models). Free shipping for purchases $99 and up. The site also provides links to local retailers who have this item in stock if you wish to pick up before the weekend. Home Depot and Ace have them in stock. I got mine at Ace Hardware today. I've been eyeing it for awhile as it will allow me to do hibachi dinners on my grill, along with my version of Sarku Japan teriyaki chicken. It's 36 lbs, pre-seasoned carbon steel. This is NOT the Weber Crafted version, which is much smaller, but might be sufficient for some people.

I've looked for a griddle insert for my grill for years. I tried a Charbroil steel plate for approx $40, and it was fine, but really too small and didn't have any way of channeling grease. SteelMade offers some really nice ones, but the shipping costs are prohibitive. Weber came out with this 400 Series earlier this year, and the $300 price tag was eye-watering. The $50 price cut and Ace rewards made this more palatable. Hopefully the wife won't mind me getting this for myself as an early birthday present. Some who are ok with a smaller footprint may want to look into the Weber crafted line, which requires a frame insert (approx. $45-50) and offers a variety of inserts such as a pizza stone, a wok and a griddle. I really wanted the full size griddle to be able to imitate my hero hibachi chefs, including those who grill teriyaki at Sarku Japan locations in malls, which have unfortunately gradually been closing since the pandemic.

Hi Honey,
Do I have to find out from SlickDeals that you bought yourself a $250 griddle? This must be you because of the Yankees/ Sarku references. If not, you're my husband's twin. The griddle purchase is fine. My parents are looking for a birthday gift idea for you so maybe they can contribute.
XOXO
Thanks for the heads up. I have a 3 burner, but it looks like that one is also $50 off. I have a Masterbuilt Gravity 800 with the griddle I got on an SD last year waiting for setup until I'm in my new house. But, the lure of having a propane option is very strong.

Ha ha! I had a "Weber" deal alert set up to look for gifts for you. I saw the post and thought it might be something you would like. Half way through the post it sounded a little too familiar…
$250 still seems steep for a single piece of steel when you get an entire blackstone for about the same price...I'm holding out until Weber comes back down to reality. I can see $150 making sense, especially when replacement grates are about that price.

Same for me... I have Blackstone and old Weber grill (2013 model Genesis) It's hard to buy something like this because it won't work for my grill, but would love to get rid of 2 thing, but cost is $$$. These days cheaper to have multiple gadgets then combined.
