That's why I bought an empty case with rope. I don't have to worry about wiring or the wench not working when I don't need it most.

Big overlander / offroader here. Never ever heard if this brand. Get it for looks - would not rely on this for a recovery.

I'd go with a Harbor Freight Badland winch over this. YouTube it, several reviews and breakdowns of them and they're really not that bad. Personally I run a Smittybilt.

I have the badlands as i don't want to spend on a warn. Its done well the several times a year i use it. Recovering Texans in the New Mexico mountains had already paid for it. This one seems similar, though duty ratings appear less capable

Agreed . I have Warn VR EVO 12-S which I paid $950 for (on sale of course) 🙂 and have watched others with the Badlands 12K Apex do the same recoveries.
