I was totally going to buy this but I saw the weight being 2.07 lbs. I think there's a Netgear for 2.04 lbs for only $70 more. I think we can all agree that weight should be top consideration when buying a home router.

Me three! Of note, when I tried to reset my linksys.com password I also never received the email, so maybe they're experiencing email issues?

This router while having nice specs, is pretty average at best. It has one of the shortest ranges out of the 6E routers out there, the speeds are also some of the slowest out of the 6E space but not by much.

If you pretty much want to join the Wifi 6E club and you have a smaller space or plan on buying multiple this is probably the cheapest way to add wifi 6E to your house, if a TP-Link Deco mesh is not on sale.

Also a nice feature is that it lets you customize the router pretty decently compared to mesh box kits which dont.

That all being said its back in stock, a pass for me but still pretty good deal.

What would you buy as a single router for a 1000sqft apartment?

Honestly for something that size go for it try this out. Price is right and you wont find anything at $100 that will provide you wifi 6E. If it works as advertised it wont be the fastest of devices but still very good. I saw someone above say they had a lot of problems with their which they bought for $350, but for $100 its all relative should be worth the buy and return if you dont like it later.

I purchased a wifi6 router recently and my speed went from 90 to 250 on my computer. cable provider is at 500mpbs. will wifi-6e bring even better speeds?
My computer card says "wifi 6E ax211 160mhz"

On another computer, my speed is still under 100mbps because I am using old usb wifi adapter, and it can only connect to 2.4ghz band on the router. A wifi6 adapter will help me in that case too? if yes, Any good reccomendations?
I'm not sure your router and laptop client card are the bottleneck. I'm thinking it's simply your Internet connection not being what is advertised. I get 370 Mbps down out of my ancient T-Mobile/Asus AC 1900 router that I bought for $40 and flashed and mildly overclocked years and years ago...

The thing is bulletproof, operates with all my devices, and just won't die.

I keep trying to talk myself into upgrading it, and yes, I could probably improve my speed tests some, but really, why? It's 10 times faster than I need to stream 4K video, the pings are super low, and I honestly doubt that I could notice the difference surfing the internet on my laptop or phone.

Thanks, really appreciate the insight. I also might have a deal on an Asus RT-AX88U (used) or this Hydra Pro refurbished for around the same price.

I got the same model recently for the same price. Works fine. Upgraded from AC86U. It's faster for almost all my clients on 5Ghz. I don't have 6Ghz devices yet but I imagine it's better due to 4x4. Can't say for range since I live in an apartment.

I am not a power network user. But the main downside for me is QoS doesn't really work without losing half the bandwidth. If you come from Asus Merlin this router is as barebone firmware wise as it gets. But for $100 to get 6e you really can't complain.

I like Asus way better than Linksys(been a very medicore brand in the router space for over 15 years now), but in this case the Linksys comes with at least some sort of warranty the used Asus which is only dual band does not so I would edge the decision to first try the linksys.

How is the firmware on these? Are there 3rd party options?

I really need something that supports assigning a VPN to specific devices.
A VPN or VLAN?
