Man that's a good price I'd the refurbs are good quality. Hard to pass up that Costco return policy though.

I'm also in the market for a inverter generator, but you're absolutely correct - Costco return policy is the best for this situation

Had a 2 year old of the 2k inverter model and even with winterizing and not using ethanol fuel the line gunned up. Costco took it back no questions and walked back and grabbed the tri fuel model to replace it.

I guess this is a good place to ask this group… I'm having a transfer switch installed next week. My goal is to ultimately be able to run the furnace in the winter. Is an inverter truly necessary or will a standard generator be ok and not fry my electronics/motherboard in my furnace? I want something that's at least 7000watts as I'm putting in a 50amp inlet, but the inverters at that level are $$$$$

Research I've shown says it's fine. Especially if the generator is a bit larger and doesn't have to run 100% load. The power isn't really that dirty, especially at 50% load. I ran our furnace on a similar size ryobi last winter that I borrowed from a friend and has absolutely no issue running both furnaces and charging the Tesla.

Thanks! Costco has a 11000/9000 firman on sale until tomorrow for $900 delivered and the 8200/7200 firman on sale for $799 delivered or $699 in warehouse. Though talking about return policy, better to spend the extra $100 to be able to ship back than have to lug 200lb back to the store

That's not a bad plan. Tri fuel was important to me as well. Being able to run on natural gas is WAY cheaper than gasoline so I buy the bullet and installed a quick disconnect on my house and tested this week. Ran great.

So how does the return shipping work for bulky online Costco orders?

Do they schedule people to come pick it up?

Yup - you just call them and they schedule pick up. Anything bought online can be picked up

Thanks OP, 280 shipped for a 3200/2900 is good for me and my needs. eBay 2 year warranty isn't Costco but it's less than half the price so I'll take the risk.

I was debating this one or the 4000/3300. Went with the 4K for $50 more
