The dual motor version is $160. No reason to pick this for $8 more. Maybe slightly more reliable since either motor could fail on the dual. But it will also take more punishment with a single motor.

I have the same plan. Going to get the dual motor version for $160 and pick up a walnut block from the lumberyard for around $100.
Do you have an example of "$100 walnut block"? I would think a walnut board the size of desk would be quite a bit more expensive than $100? At least my area.
