The dual motor version is $160. No reason to pick this for $8 more. Maybe slightly more reliable since either motor could fail on the dual. But it will also take more punishment with a single motor.

edit: my bad, this one comes with a top.

Do you have an example of "$100 walnut block"? I would think a walnut board the size of desk would be quite a bit more expensive than $100? At least my area.

You could try a lumbar yard. $100 is an underestimate, I think it will cost me closer to $150.
