Make sure you have the latest firmware. Older versions can brick your drive eventually. I just had mine die and I'm waiting for an RMA from Samsung. Only had 119TBW when it write locked itself.

As long as YMTC is still pumping out flash the prices will keep dropping. A production cut only helps the competitions. Unlike oil, silicon is not limited in nature. The most expensive part is the machine that prints the chips, and that is mostly a one time investment. The more you print, the less it costs. And keeping your machine standing by will see its value depreciate as technology advances.

YMTC is already not allowed to buy new machines from US entities. But their existing machines will keep working. Micron has filed a trade complaint. Once that completes and the tariff kicks in, pricing will not be the same, at least in the US.
Some say no but IMO yes. You can get one for $10 on Amazon. [amazon.com] (I have this one)

Any thoughts on SSD pricing? Still dropping or leveling off now?

When we talk about reliability we can't predict the future, but we will look into the past for data to make educated guesses. If a manufacturer has many failures in the past, then we think of their products as unreliable. Of course this one bug had been fixed, but can you promise there isn't another bug in their firmware? Compared to a manufacturer who has not have such critical failures in the past few years, which brand inspires more confidence? Compared to their own reputation 2 years ago when they were still one of the most reliable brands, I think they have been damaged.
yeah I promise.

Do I need to purchase a heatsink if I want to install this in a PS5?
You don't have to, but I recommend one, as I did for my ps5

$78.99 from Amazon Warehouse in "Used, Acceptable" condition (3 in stock as of right now).

Based on a quick research online, most folks are generally satisfied with SSDs bought from AW but at least one customer complained they got an old cheap SSD in the package instead of what they ordered. Probably a return would be easy in case of an issue but I guess there is a small risk of missing on the deal if you get unlucky with the AW purchase.

Yeah, went ahead and bought one. $109 with tax. This is going to be my games drive on my new PC leaving me with 1 NVMe slot open. I'll put a 4TB in that on Black Friday is I see any 4TB's for $149 which might happen.

Beware, there are fake 980 Pro drives out there. Check the speed as soon as you get them.

There are so many comments on the use of heat syncs. After reading the reviews, it does not look like there is a good model. Any recommendations for a Samsung 990 and a Western Digital SN-777 that is in a desktop computer?

Isn't the 1TB version less than half of this?
