Any custom ROM or ability to load play store ?

Edit: searched around XDA a bit. No magisk. No root. Not much interest from XDA community.

Personally recommend this if you have an older gen fire stick. The interface is just so much quicker

Heads up 20% trade-in discount is calculated from the original starting price
Fire TV Trade-in -$11.00

The RAM is fine, storage is a problem (only 8GB) but you can add more easily with this OTG cable and a thumb drive
The RAM issue is huge. My ONN box never crashes due to memory issues. The Firestick did all the time... and Amazon doesn't allow cache-cleaning apps. It does not release RAM because the apps are never closed unless you force-quit them. There are videos on Youtube that address this issue: it's not fixable.

You can clear the cashe, it's under manage installed applications.
Never had an issue w my current 4K stick. Maybe you had an older gen or lite version?

Nope. 4K. And that clears the system cache, not that attached to the apps. Nor the memory taken up by allegedly "closed" apps. Amazon keeps them open in the background so that they will launch immediately.

Depending on chat associate this can be a pain. I've spent last hour trying to get $11 and not sure if worth it

It's frustrating having to provide info that they should already have and can read on the same pages I'm looking at

If I don't have a wifi6 router will the max make a difference over the regular 4K? I might just get this to future proof. Really just curious

Walmart's ONN 4K. $20. Buy the 2-year $2 warranty. You're welcome. Walmart is also reportedly coming out with a stick within weeks, but I like the box form factor.
On the ONN, I saw some reviews saying the previous hardware version was better and the current has had some USB functionality removed. Which version are you referring too?

Can't get the 20% to stack even though the product page says it, and after trade in confirmation page and email both say the 20% is instantly available.
Call them I just did and they give 20% off the original price of $54.99 which came out as $11 off

I ignore those. People often thumb down stuff to be jerks. Or due to stupidity.

In fact, I don't use the app, so I never see them. And can't TU or TD replies on the website, anyway.

(Ooooh, wait! I feel a TD incoming for this post... LMAO)
Same dont app either ...dont need slippery deals tracking me

Its the schmucks with no pedigree that have appeared in the past decade
