google SMR vs CMR
I hope that I'm wrong, but I'm guessing - since it doesn't say but people have complained - that it has a 1 year warranty, and that's not good..
My experience
a) Seagate - Major red flag
b) 1 year warranty - Another Major red flag, with flashing red warning lights and a 110dB Klaxon siren.
Summary - you've got to be desperate, foolish, or both to put up to 16TB of data on a Seagate drive with a 1 year warranty. Who sells large storage drives with a 1 year warranty? They offer "recovery", but it seems like they may want to put the recovered data on another drive - guessing that you have to buy from them.
This company has no bottom IMO. It continues to sink to lower levels than I thought possible.
PS - all sizes are lumped together in the reviews. You have to select only the 16tb, and the last 5-6 reviews are all 3 stars. A new drive, and people not really happy....
