the limit for the 1st drive is 512gb and 2nd drive is only 1TB? or am i reading it wrong?

Now, I'm talking about launching games natively from Steam. GOG, Epic, etc via launches such as Heroic are a different story. Still not a big deal to get a game working. Just check protondb.com, pretty much any 'fix' required is a single setting or Proton version and a dozen other people have figured it out for you. When in doubt try launch with Proton Experimental, if that doesn't work try launching first time in desktop mode; every launch afterwards should work fine in gaming mode. 99.7% of game issues one of these two steps solve.
Now, if you are playing multiplier or expect to run a 7" screen at 4K you aren't going to have consistent success.
