Yep. This is not your typical photo frame, but some types of images look *amazing* on e-ink.
For those interested in the next Kindle Paperwhite/oasis/whatever Note that you will likely get a solid chunk of what you pay for this as a trade-in plus an additional 20% off the purchase price of a new Kindle purchase ($27.80 off the cheapest current Paperwhite, $50 off the cheapest oasis)

had an old $10 off from Woot! from one of their prior screw-ups - so $15 for me. Will make a nice gift for a friend's daughter who has been trying to read at night by flashlight.

I have an ad supported one but since I only copy books to it with a cable, it's never been online to download ads

I bought two of these in the past and they look mint.
I traded in one for 20% off with recent deals for 2021 PaperWhite.

This is a nice device to take with you on your trips for reading. I'm having this and the later one (2021, 11th gen PaperWhite). They are very much the same except this model has micro-usb charging port instead of C-type. The screen is small and matte, but I like it better since it does not catch my fingers' print.

I using google to look for epub books and download onto my PC. The I just drag and send to kindle device using SendToKindle app. Very quick and easy.

Get it if you can, enjoy your reading!

Same here. I love mine. Great deal. Tempting to buy another, but I don't need one.

This is a good deal for a paperwhite but if you are a daily reader, I would just get the newest paperwhite (Kids version is usually the best deal) for a little over $100. I am someone who used their last basic Kindle for over 12 years and even I think 2015 is old at this point for someone who will use it everyday for hours. Being able to change the warmth (yellow tones) and having usb-c is something worth paying more for. This advice is for those who intend to use their kindle everyday and want to keep it for the long term.

If you don't like a flush screen and just want to try out a kindle, then this $25 2015 paperwhite is the better route.

Nope. Check the Amazon Trade-In page. They're only giving $5 for a 2015 7th gen paperwhite. https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=ti_s...9187220011

I got this last time. It is essentially the same as the current basic Kindle except you can't invert the screen. Same six inch lighted screen otherwise.

Is the new one any faster? I've used my wife's (this version) and loading the 'bookshelf' or other screens is like dial up slow. I mean sure I'm going to use it to read a book but I don't want to forget what I was even going to read before I get to it.

I think this is the version I have? It's a nice device, it's done me well, but I'm personally ready to move on completely from MicroUSB, with my Kindle being the last device I routinely use with the port. Hoping for a Paperwhite 2021 sale, but 25 is a great price for those that don't mind the MicroUSB (and the lack of waterproofing).

It's really too bad that they abandoned the side page press buttons that are on the Voyage. I have one of those and love that feature - if I ever see a refurb of that model I'll buy it just for a backup.

Otherwise, $25 for a paperwhite is a great deal.

The "solid chunk" is only $5, based on what I was offered for this model in the recent deal for the current Kindle Paperwhite (kids version). The 20% off should apply if that offer continues.

Is the paperwhite version much better than the normal kindle? I'm not a reader and don't have one but wondering if it's worth upgrading the wife's if they have good deals on Prime Day.

I have owned this version, the 10th generation, and now the current 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite.

I was satisfied with both the 7th and 10th generations. However, the 11th generation is significantly faster, making turning pages almost instantaneous and using the on-screen keyboard less annoying to use. It's the sort of thing that you wouldn't notice without trying the newest model. The USB-C and slightly larger screen are nice, too, but the faster performance is the key difference.

Buying this and trading it in now for $5 credit plus 20% off a 11th-generation Paperwhite ($140) would be about breakeven. Better would be to buy this, enjoy it, and trade it in the next time Amazon runs a sale.
