I traded in one for 20% off with recent deals for 2021 PaperWhite.
This is a nice device to take with you on your trips for reading. I'm having this and the later one (2021, 11th gen PaperWhite). They are very much the same except this model has micro-usb charging port instead of C-type. The screen is small and matte, but I like it better since it does not catch my fingers' print.
I using google to look for epub books and download onto my PC. The I just drag and send to kindle device using SendToKindle app. Very quick and easy.
Get it if you can, enjoy your reading!
If you don't like a flush screen and just want to try out a kindle, then this $25 2015 paperwhite is the better route.

Nice, I do the same thing with "smart" TVs
Is the new one any faster? I've used my wife's (this version) and loading the 'bookshelf' or other screens is like dial up slow. I mean sure I'm going to use it to read a book but I don't want to forget what I was even going to read before I get to it.
Otherwise, $25 for a paperwhite is a great deal.

I was satisfied with both the 7th and 10th generations. However, the 11th generation is significantly faster, making turning pages almost instantaneous and using the on-screen keyboard less annoying to use. It's the sort of thing that you wouldn't notice without trying the newest model. The USB-C and slightly larger screen are nice, too, but the faster performance is the key difference.
Buying this and trading it in now for $5 credit plus 20% off a 11th-generation Paperwhite ($140) would be about breakeven. Better would be to buy this, enjoy it, and trade it in the next time Amazon runs a sale.
