I paid $1k retail during the pandemic for the 90 lbs model. For this price, I could buy two sets and tape them together for 100 lbs, and still have money left to pay for the urgent care bill.

Please Note: The Sport 50 and PowerBlock 50 are the same product with the exception of color

Had these when in NY but sold them when I came down to FL. Bought them for $280 in pandemic times which I thought was a steal and sold them for $220. And now they are selling for even cheaper.

Pro's of these are you really don't have to worry about any mechanism failing. Metal construction. Small length.

Cons - a little unbalanced, weight in different areas. Would prefer a metal one thickness grip, not the ergo/comfort grip.

People complain that they are not expandable but you can get a decent amount done with them. There are a bunch of single arm exercise that 50 is good for. And 100 ain't bad for single leg exercises.

Thanks for posting OP, I'm in for a pair.

Good deal, Non-expandable version though.

I have the expandable version from the last deal, but my buying addiction is telling me to get these. Might need another pair on hand for my future home gym partner
What does the term expandable or non expandable means?

Bought the sport set, it hides the dust from lack of use better than the black. Thanks op!

I grabbed these earlier. My only regret is I wish the deal included the powetrstand perhaps for $50 more with the set. I'll wait... No experience with these, though. I hope they turn out to be a good buy...

I figured I'd throw my dirty socks at them to breakup the dust accumulation...

Why the heck does PowerBlock make so many versions. I have no idea which one I should get.

The weight being too light for some people is totally subjective depending on the strength of the person so that complaint is viable
As someone who is very strong, even I can find lots of uses for a 50lb dumbbell set, I can do pinky curls, nose scrunches, earlobe pulls, eyebrow raises, and even overhead thumb presses with these!

not sure which one i should get, power block 50 or sport 50. i know that neither are expandable, but is the color really the only difference? maybe the plates are coated differently? idk, if anyone with experience can chime in itd be greatly appreciated
I was wondering the same. I stumbled across a review video, and one of the comments mentioned the gray color seeming to resist scratches better than the black color. Not a huge difference, but I went with the sport model. Here's the link to video, and the comment I'm referring to is the top comment. Hope this helps!

This is a good deal, but I already have an adjustable set and have had it for years. It was more expensive but the weights are the same weight. This style of dumbbell just looks so stupid to me, however.
Still not a bad deal and would grab it if I needed it.

I've been debating these and the Bowflex version for like 5+ years now. I can never pull the trigger.

This version goes in 5 lb increments up to 50.

On the expandable versions, the inside is 5 lbs with an opening for two 2.5 lb weights in it, then you have 4 10 lb pieces which is how you adjust your weight (you can do any 5/7.5/10 increment, but not 2.5) up to 50 lbs. It takes longer but you have a little more control. Those versions also have extra 10 lb addons so you can bump it up to 60/70/80/90 per hand.

They also have a smaller set that I think only goes up to 30 which I'm waiting to have go on sell to pick up for my mom.

Cheapest I've ever seen the Powerblock 50. Most people will tell you this is a bad deal because they need more weight (e.g. 90lbs).

For a home gym, 50lb per arm is plenty.

as usual it should be noted that everyone's needs and preferences are different. i am in my 60's and find the 50lbs. to be sufficient....if i was in my 20's probably not...also peoples fitness goals are different...so if you're looking for a set of adjustable dumbbells ignore all the 50 is not enough and 50 is more than enough people and decide for yourself and the main thing is to get started...

These are far better than bowflex which need a cradle, and are always stupid long. And currently cost much more.
200 is the used price now so these should hold decent resale.
